I call them the “Old Yeller” stories. I’m all about the humanity of college football. But these things are endless.

I know. “Get off my lawn.”

I do. I don't need ESPN to make me aware of cancer or my mortality. I usually use that opportunity to go take a leak... And sometimes examine my balls.

I don’t think that phrase works here.

Yes, they are dumb, and a crappy attempt to make it palatable to women.

That's when I jump over to SEC Nation and catch their gameday.

I think like most things, it would be better if done in moderation. Too much and the audience gets desensitized.

I tried that and they're covering the only thing worse than the ESPN sob stories... Segregation. Think they coordinated the timing?

Integration, breaking news for 54 years and counting.

Liberals always have to use their platform (even if it’s just covering sports) to show everyone that what they are doing is virtuous.

Those poor bleeding hearts.

It's a cheap ratings ploy...

It's everywhere on TV...

No. I don't hate them. They show us there are more important things in life. Today was rough. Be thankful for our blessings.

That has absolutely nothing to do with why they air those stories.

People who are watching just for the sports will keep watching because we like sports. People who are "eh" on sports but love sob stories will watch and then maybe get interested in the sports too. It's all about the ratings.

It's become ingrained in modern entertainment. Every reality or live show must feature this.
