Making poor decisions means he can't read the defense. This is coaching. However, I don't understand why he wouldn't be able to read a defensive front with 8-9 in the box!

I don't.

He's had more than enough time to prove himself.
He's below avg qb.
Been saying that all along.

With that said he will be called on again to help his team.
He needs to not pout and continue to work hard at practice

THIS...

He wasn't performing well. He had plenty of time in the pocket and was missing passes still.

As for the boos, this board made it clear that the boos were for the coach and the philosophy. Booing is for entitled idiots.

But that's not an excuse to not be a good teammate.

There's a reason why Harris, who I think is a fairly intelligent kid, took awhile to learn the playbook. You have to put the hours in. You have to put the effort in.

Of course I feel bad for him.

How many of us have ever had to endure watching our lifelong dream go up in smoke in front of 90 thousand people?

If he was in the NFL I'd agree, but he's not, so I disagree. He's a 20 year old student in the developmental stage (because of coaching) trying to make his dreams come true

I can't feel sorry for a kid who gets a free ride at LSU and has three years to prepare to play QB but still can't manage to do it. I'd feel sorry for him if he got hurt but the kid has talked too much and produced poorly to earn my sympathy. He said in the summer that he had the best arm in all of college football. Don't say shite like that if you can't back it up.

When Lee got benched he still showed excitement and encouragement for Jefferson. I didn't see that last night from Harris. To me that says a lot about who he is.

Him leaving so quickly did annoy me, and I believe it disrespected the program, but I understand why he did it. Definitely needs to be put in check for that selfishness

So it boils down to did he put in extra effort and really give 100%. Reports have always indicated that he wasn't the guy living in the film room type of player. Im still shocked it was newsworthy that he worked with receivers after practice one day.

Also have to consider the other QBs competing for the job are also putting in serious effort. What if Etling is working harder? Why should we feel sorry for Harris when DE also has his career on the line?

Without knowing effort levels we are all in the dark.

A good coach would've taught him how to speak and prevented that from happening, or him even thinking that. I don't see Peyton on Sunday morning telling Lionel Richie that in the grocery store

I am assuming the starter puts in more time, or at least he should be studying and working as much as possible while keeping his grades up. If he wasn't, then it's on him

Me too. I think many people do, even those that criticize his play. We all had high hopes for him. Much more so than the other "dual threat" QBs we've had.

don't like how he's been coached

THIS^ 1000%

and am angry at people treating him like shite

Not me. Its a GAME! I dont get mad when people make fun of me for landing in "jail" three times in a row when I play Monopoly(maybe thats a bad example as Monopoly has caused more in-home fist fights then maybe any boardgame in history)

he knows he isn't playing well

...and whos fault is that?

I don't think he was put in the position to excel by the coaching staff

BINGO! Maybe BH should be upset with the coaching staff for not putting him in a position to be successful.

I believe they actually made him worse of a QB since he's been here

Yup.

He obviously has talents

Yes, yes he does.

Keep going.

This is why negatigers exist and rightfully so.

He's a young kid

Please stop calling him a kid. Last I checked hes over 18. If you really have so many feels for him then FYI one of the most insulting things you can call another MAN is a "kid". Dont patronize the players.

IMHO, the players shouldn't ever ever ever be booed

I agree.

Classy, from someone claiming the high ground. Dont be a douchebag machotard. I carry so somebody lays a hand on me over something as stupid as something I said youre taking it to the next level and expect it to end bad for both of us.

BH has had ample opportunity to showcase his talents. He's not a very good QB. With the amount of coaching that he has gotten he should be way ahead of where he is. He gets coaching above and beyond what is available from LSU. Namely from the fraud in San Diego. If he was ever going to be better he would be there by now. Maybe this is a good thing, a wake up call of sorts, maybe he would be better served utilizing his particular talents in another field. Does he play any other sports?

He lost his job last night. I don't think college athletes should receive the scrutiny that pro players do and from that aspect, I feel for the guy having to go through that, but the team, as a whole deserves to have the most effective players on the field and he hasn't been able to deliver. That's just life.

He can't have felt that anything he has done has made him worthy of an NFL roster spot. Those are deserved for the absolute top guys, or guys that have talent that can be easily developed.

Since he has known he will not be in the NFL for a few years, I am sure he is taking full advantage of the education afforded him. When he was new, we heard that he was a pretty smart kid in the classroom. I am glad of that since most don't go pro. He will still be able to make a good living in his chosen field.

That being said, we really don't know him. His public persona has been crafted by the sports information dept., with him being told in advance what to say. We know a little about BH the athlete, and BH the LSU representative, but we don't know much beyond that.

We do know that the other guys like him. We also know that the other guys came alive when he was benched.

I wish him success once he graduates. Without much to go on, he seems like a good kid.

If you're gonna insult someone, at least spell words correctly.

Not sure about up there, but down here we take care of our own. That's what this thread is about

I feel terrible for Brandon Harris. Miles has made it impossible for him to succeed, slowing eroding his confidence to the point that he can't throw the simplest pass for a completion.

Last week, Harris could not have been handled worse that he was from a coaching standpoint. Miles knew he was under tremendous pressure but did nothing to help him be comfortable in the game. Had he started him out with an easy completion in the 1st series, maybe he could have relaxed. Instead, we ran the typical Miles off-tackle into 9-in-the-box offense that has sapped all life out of LSU football.

When we did throw, the scheme required tight window throws. He never thought to give him run-pass options and let Harris play to his strengths. Miles finally was merciful last night and replaced Harris.

In my opinion, Harris is just another QB that Miles has mismanaged so badly that the qualities they had that made them highly recruited players were overwhelmed by loss of confidence and lack of development.

Lastly, Miles refuses to make needed QB changes until the fans get upset enough to start booing Miles. This is devastating for the QB that he leaves out there for too long.

No. He is a third year QB with a spring practice. He can't execute what he has been given. With that said, he just seems to get onto his teammates and Downey hold himself accountable.
I do feel bad that no matter the QB my team will not compete this season or any other as long as Miles is the coach.

I love the way Etling played, but I also feel that we will need Harris again this year
