I got this from SEC RANT
Maybe this is why our home runs are down?

I’m sure Jay would love to piss on his biggest NIL donor’s cleats

Has less to do with the bat and more to do with how many schools use each brand. Louisville slugger sponsors like 60% of college baseball programs.

Is it possible that these stats, assuming they’re true, is due to Marucci simply being used by fewer schools than Louisville Slugger or Rawlings? All those stats could just be due to a numbers game.

There’s not as many schools using marucci as those brands

Did it affect the amount of homers we hit the past 2 years?

Exactly, let’s see the per capita on this stat.

Im sure that any of those companies would contribute the same rate or higher to get LSU

In 2023 we finished 2nd behind Florida in HRs…it’s not the bats
Posted on 5/22/25 at 4:47 pm to Islandboy777
Yes it has been way past time to end the Marucci experiment. Proof is in the pudding.

We should have finished number one in 2023..
Remember that Homerun that Bear got robbed of ?

pic says they only counted top 300 batters for each bat.
but even then, it’s not an easy comparison to make due to different ballparks, etc.
Edit, my bad, 300 total players.
meaning not an even. umber of players, so using totals instead of averages is stupid.

they are sampling 300 players.
Marruci sponsors 38 teams
so 300 players is going to be most of the starting lineup of those teams. it’s on average 7.8 players per team
now if you sponsor 100 D1 teams you get to cherry pick the best players.
across 300 players LS is still averaging like 3.3 HR a player. so even they’re digging for HR.

3 of the top 5 home run hitters in college use Marucci
So there is that too
So there is that too

You need percentages or it is meaningless.
Posted on 5/22/25 at 5:05 pm to Islandboy777
How many HRs per pitch using various bats? The OP is worthless without more context.

As others have pointed out, that still doesn’t make it an even playing field. If 150 teams use LS, 300 is the top two HR hitters on each team on average. For Marucci with only 38 teams, that’s 7.8 players per team. Obviously you are scraping the bottom of the barrel going that deep into those rosters.

You want to hit more home runs move the fences in
Posted on 5/22/25 at 5:33 pm to Islandboy777
We ride with the home team.

How about letting them play in tiny parks like SCe, Tenner and UGA?
