Crazy if we didnt but all i have heard is that he “wanted” the NFL and money was great. What was his option if he stayed? OC and 1.5? If we failed to offer him full OC then that is a very questionable call. We will see what comes out.

We already have an OC. Brady was hired to teach the OC modern passing concepts. Everyone needs to stop looking for reasons to bitch and just enjoy the run. Next year will take care of itself.

All reports are that he likes the pro game better and doesn’t like recruiting on a daily basis.

They were bumping him up to 1 mil a year and I’m sure that came with a title change to Co-OC.

Most of the 1 mil comes from TAF but the other bonuses do as well.

I'm thinking we didn't have time to get around to it yet. Don't take that phrase too negatively. The whole point of the 3yr MOU (with NFL clause) was simply to avoid distractions prior to the biggest game of the year.

And not talking about who's going to be OC and who's moving where at the same time is part of the same principle- there's a time and place for that. And that time is Jan 14th.

So to avoid the distractions, like every other administration is was going to wait until after the game. Carolina (and others) weren't waiting.

Now it was obviously in the air for discussion. As far as officially offering and saying who goes where with what title, that had to wait. I for one will salute Brady for not pulling the trigger before the game OR letting it distract him personally even though negotiations had been going on a while.

The results speak for themselves: Brady did his job up to the last minute nor did CSE let it affect him either. Kudos. We can't say the same for Chavis.

Surely if he’s good enough to OC in the NFL he’s good enough to be OC in college right?

The guy wants to be an NFL coach
Being an NFL OC puts him on the fast track to become an NFL HC.
No amount of money/title would have kept him here.
I’m sure Woodward and O did everything they could to keep him.
He’s young with a long career ahead of him. Maybe one day he decides to get back in the college game, and LSU will probably hold a special place in his heart.

There was no way LSU was going to be able to go toe to toe with David Tepper and his deep pockets. Tepper is a billionaire that likes to boast he will buy a restaurant just to fire a waiter if waiter gives bad service.

In 2019 season, I know Ensminger was the OC and Brady was the passing game coordinator but I have never seen who the QB coach was. Brady deserves the credit for his offensive scheme and of course Burrow and the WRer/TE/RB for hundreds of hours to try to perfect the plays but someone must have worked with Burrow on footwork, throwing motion, helping to process the field quickly, etc. Since I have never seen the title of "QB coach" listed on any coach, who was the guy who worked most with Burrow to get his accuracy to that of a cruise missile?

I don’t think he is experienced enough to be an OC yet. I think the Panthers are making a mistake. I don’t think Brady is making a mistake because this is a hell of an opportunity to grow in his chosen profession.

This is the truth here...

There is a trend right now in the NFL of teams handing the reigns over to young offensive-minded assistants. Look at the number of coaches in their early-to-mid 30s that are coaching in the NFL (or will be by next season).

Like all trends, this will likely taper off at some point and regress back to the mean -- so for right now -- there is no better time to be a young offensive assistant coach in the NFL if your goal/dream is to coach on the biggest stage.

Brady knows this. His path is clear. Go to Carolina, find some success (which might not be terrbily difficult with McCaffrey) and then get your shot to be a head coach by 35.

He could have put another year or two in at LSU, sure -- but he was just part of the most successful offensive season in NCAA history. Can't be topped.

As sad as it is to say, he would gain nothing by returning.

He's back in the NFL after establishing himself away from Sean Payton and now he's on track to be a head coach in the next 3-5 years.

Time will tell if it is a mistake by the Panthers (and as a Saints fan I truly hope it is), but one thing we know is that right now they don't seem to have a QB that can execute whatever Brady draws up at a high level like Burrow (in college) or Brees. It will be interesting to see what they do with Cam.

Brady had an outstanding year and if you had to pick one guy who was most responsible for LSU's remarkable transformation he would be it. But make no mistake. He can only design/call the plays. It's the QB that makes it all work. Plus, what may have been "revolutionary" for college isn't going to be all that revolutionary in the NFL.
