Do they make a killing on merchandising when a team has a year like LSU has had?

I know the stores were exceptionally busy on game day. I also know LSU clothing is the main thing me and my son asked for for Christmas. Does LSU make a lot more on licensed merchandise when they have a season like this? I’m assuming they have to ramp up production as well? Just wondering.

I guess I’m asking about the University. Do they get money for licensed gear. I don’t know how it works.

Merchandise sales grow, enrollment increases, grades are better, women are prettier, everyone gets laid more.
It’s paradise man!

Judges in Louisiana are more lenient after an LSU win and there are statistics to back it up.

I can’t imagine how upbeat everybody must be down there. I bet there will be a lot of full delivery rooms in Louisiana 9 months out from this season. Up here in Arkansas I can’t get people to talk about college football. Can’t blame them though.

Come on man.. That's part of the investment in having a winning program. And having a Heisman trophy winning QB.. This could be a record setting year in merchandise.

Man LSU football is a football franchise, minus paying the players. Wins generates eyeballs. Eyeballs generates money from all kind of streams. It’s reason coaches get fired and hired.

Yes and no. Lots of sec championship type gear is sold. A few more things asked for Christmas, but you see a ton of the unlicensed stuff popping up. Anything with Burreaux isn't licensed. Same when people were selling honey badger stuff.

Everything for the school gets better. Especially applications to get in.

There’s definitely been an absurd amount of number 9 jerseys sold I’ll tell you that for sure

They make a killing when they are somewhat relevant at all. This year they are cleaning up. That’s why people like F King needed to go.

This is a national brand year. We are the hot thing and have great colors. There will be bandwagon fans buying up merchandise. Win 2 more and that explodes even further

Yes, the revenues are the rewards of capitalism and entrepreneurship.
Do not like it? Move to Cuba.
The licensing process (as is today) started w CLC College Licensing Company in the early 80s, then bought by IMG.
The fees have gotten much higher and a small company has a hard time to compete in that they need $$$ for marketing but it is available.
LSU stays in the top 10 consistently.
Here is a link to top Schools and Top companies..
Interesting.
