I get it. I understand that the money comes from the ratings. It just doesn’t sit right that another school may be willing to increase their rev share for baseball over one of their basketball programs to lure Jay away and we clearly aren’t willing to do that to keep him despite the success.

I understand why but this is fricking pathetic. Clearly the revenue potential with basketball is greater, hell the NCAA makes more money off March Madness than any other event, but to essentially say they are willing to let the best program/coach on campus go for a sport that we get decent TV RATINGS in is egregious. The attendance/success the baseball program brings is far more valuable to fans.

Not only do we get a near full staff in time for December signings. We essentially distracted Ole Miss from their playoff run and imploded their future coaching search. Talk about twisting the knife.

It will also mean that the past four Football championships have gone to four different sec teams, not to mention the past three baseball champions have been three OTHER sec teams

Spoke with a senior o-lineman yesterday, he said pretty much everyone has taken to it well with the exception of one player. Didn’t get the name but he said it’s someone who been battling a back injury and hasn’t played much.
