I would assume bags-o-cash played a role.

It’s his decision- it doesn’t have to make sense to any of us

After the death threats Jamie got… if fans did that to my daddy I would never have considered LSU in the first place.

It is not because of JD staying but more of Brian Kelly refusing to giving a passing QB an opportunity to play. Much like Les Miles, BK is enamored with dual threat QBs. Dual threat QBs in all sense cannot read defenses and make timely anticipation throws. They wait for plays to break down and then rely on their legs to get out of trouble and run. Dual threat QBs will only get you so far.
J Burrow & Tua are not a dual threat QBs. They are pocket passers but elusive enough and always keeping their eyes down field. They throw on rhythm and timing.
Howard will one day play in the NFL from the system that is installed in Ole Miss. I don’t blame him for leaving and wish the young man luck.

I am beginning to think you are correct about Kell’s view of college quarterbacking. It’s unsettling to say the least.

What? Either nuss or Walker was going to be the starter in 2024.

If you're looking for a tua or burrow type player you're gonna be waiting for a while. There isnt one of these players on lsu's roster even if we include Walker.

I hope Kelly does not become so pig headed as CLM was. It made the program falter. Passing QBs will win more than "dual threat" QBs. JD5 is a single threat which is easily contained as all will see this fall.

Have neither of you looked up the last 2 notre dame qbs under kelly?
Ian Book And Jack Coan were both prostyle qbs. That's the last 4 seasons of ND football under Kelly.
But hey don't let facts get in the way of made up narrative.

I swear the hate JD gets makes me look like a JD pumper when I'm far from that.

How was it easily contained when we won the sec west and he literally just had the 2nd most offensive yards in lsu single season history and the 4th most tds in a season.
JD just needs to get a little bit more consistent in the passing game for us to get where we want. He in no way sucks.

When Kelly arrived he had Brennan, Nuss, and Walker. So why go after JD? Its because he wants a system QB

Kelly got Daniels for one reason, he saw what he had and he knew it wasn’t good enough to win right away.

He used the same strategy with TB, WR, OL, DB and at LB. He saw where the issues were and plugged them up as best he could.

And guess what? It worked great.

We don't know that.

A year ago, didn't we believe Brennan or Nuss would be the QB, and then Daniels appeared.
Even after Spring practice, most posters believed Brennan would be the starter.

Come on... in all likelihood one of them was going to start. Not a dual threat QB. His last 4 years at ND he prostyle qbs and DT on the bench.
Maybe just maybe he starts who he thinks gives the team the best chance to win dt/prostyle.

Howard was never going to stay if the other two did. The natural progression was Daniels leaving this year and Howard backing up Nuss in 23.

Basically the coaches picked one year of Daniels over 2-3 years of Howard.

Scared is a reach. He didn't want to be on 3rd team again. He wanted to get snaps in practice. Meaningful snaps.

Many young QBS see a few freshman outliers have success and think that should be them.

Eh..he's very small for a non-mobile NFL QB.

The system that doesn't prepare guys well for the NFL? That's your argument?

Lane has a great college system, but it involves mobile QBs and single reads...the very things you were arguing against
