Howard got scared.
He did no such thing. He's going where he can show his talents before he turns 30. It was a common-sense move. Get off his back.

Walker's best chance to start at LSU was to go to another school out of HS, start for a couple of years, and then vector back in via the portal.

QBs are no longer competing against their own "QB room." They're competing against everyone in the field for PT. If you can't get on the playing field early somewhere, you're outta luck getting on the field here. Why? Because the HC prefers to starts someone with 2+ years of experience vs a 4th yr senior making his first start.

This is 100% spot on. Maybe when Nuss transfers in the spring people here will finally be forced to admit that CBK doesn’t walk on water

Who was the last backup QB that left and tore it up at his second school? History says if a QB leaves LSU they're not very good. Maybe Brennan was never really that good, and Howard likely isn't either.

I believe it’s both equally. If JD or Nuss left, Walker stays

Maybe he stays one more year if only Nuss stayed, but he’d still have left next Spring anyway.

If JD leaves then Walker is QB2 not QB3, why is this so hard to understand?

And how long was he going to be content to be QB2?

Which is it? Did Howard leave because he was going to be QB3 or not? Your belief that Nuss is leaving contradicts your prior contention.

There have been numerous QBs who've transferred out. Off the top of my head:

Timmy Byrd (USM)
Bob Lane (NLU?)
Stan Humphries (NLU)
? Garrett (big kid from MS who bounced around a bunch of schools)
Anthony Jennings (ULL?)
Brandon Harris (UNC)
McMillin (Tulane)
Finley (Auburn)

So many more I'm sure. I didn't follow their careers but to my knowledge the only one who had good success was Humphries.

That said, when QBs left under the old rules their landing spots were more limited. Will be interesting to see if our track record for ex-pats improves.

There’s no contradiction, Walker left because he believed he was going to be QB3 again and Nuss can still leave in the spring when he sees he’s not going to be the starter again

I can’t recall a legit 5* qb recruit ever wanting to come to LSU… nope never had one. You’ve made an irrelevant point.

Burrow rode the bench at Ohio state - that’s a fact.

I honestly don’t get the fascination with mediocre.

Please cite any statistic at all that shows Daniels somehow being responsible for or capable of 5-6 TD a game… because that’s the requirement to beat uga, bama, vols, and likely both Mississippi teams…

Nuss or howard … hell .., any starting division 1 qb could match Daniels without effort.

Fools.

Howard left because he can put up daniels numbers today, get the reps required to grow his game, and move on to the nfl after his junior or senior year… duh.

No, he left because the NCAA has allowed kids to quit!
Great culture! He's a pussy that didn't want to honor his pledge to a school that was supposed to be his dream school? Sad. He clearly thinks way too high of himself and this won't help him one bit.

Realized he is not good enough to beat out Nuss. That’s what the truth is.

Doesn't matter though. You stay and learn and compete. Not run away. He pledged to LSU.

The worst part is we let the Zachary kid go to Bama because he doesn’t want to be on the same team is Howard. Cost us both.

He scared of Rickie Collins. More scared of competition than Eli Holstein as it turns out

Craig Nall had the most success that I can recall.
