Do not believe any “LSU isn’t a top 8 seed if this and this happens” propaganda

Will be seeing a lot of that this week or click bait tweets that will tell you there’s a path for LSU to fall out.
19 win SEC teams do not miss out on a national seed.
For people wondering where some of the national seed confidence comes from:
Since the NCAAT went to 16 ranked seeds, SEC teams with 19 or more wins are 19/19 for national seed [Arkansas and Texas already]. 18+ is 22/24 [Arkansas '22 & Ole Miss '21 weren't national seeds].
18 is generally seen as the magic number & those 4 are already there.
19 win SEC teams do not miss out on a national seed.

Can someone explain this to me? How are we the #1 team in the country, 19-11 in conference play (3rd seed in tournament) and not make a national seed? And I know, RPI.. but still? Why does that matter?

Why are you talking about being ranked in the top 16? No one gives an F about that. We all know that. It's about Top 8 and has always been about Top 8.

he was talking about a national seed which usually means top 8 ..if he was talking top 16 he would say hosting a regional

Whether you credit the team for battling back from early defeat or not, that is straight up horseshitt.
But I did understand needing to get the tournament over at some point to get to the more important Regionals.
Single elimination is gonna be better for sure.
Wasn’t a fan of the SEC past years setup when a team goes 2-0 and a team 2-1 (that you already beat), comes back and then beats you, and then goes on to the championship.
Whether you credit the team for battling back from early defeat or not, that is straight up horseshitt.
But I did understand needing to get the tournament over at some point to get to the more important Regionals.

There is already zero doubt whatsoever.
I don’t understand how some of yall can think that the most blue blood program in the country can be ranked #1 in EVERY POLL going into the final regular season weekend, go ON THE ROAD and win an SEC SERIES, get to 19 WINS and finish 3rd in the conference, and somehow not get a top 8. Y’all are making this way harder on yourselves.
I know RPI and Q1 and Q2 wins/ losses are a factor, but for them to hold the unanimous #1 team in the country out of hosting all the way through, would blow up the entire ranking system.

Yeah if we were to lose that first game in the SEC tournament that may move us to 4-5th in seeding lowest after others bump up from winning their tournaments.
