after going 3 for 4 tonight, is hitting .458 this season with a 1.078 OPS. He's reached base safely in all seven games he's played

Man he’s had a hell of a career

He was one of the best players in the MLB in 2016. Kind of had a down year last year, but that’s to his standards. He still played well.

Believe it or not, but i remember quite a few posters here questioning if he was good enough to play at lsu back in 2007 and 2008

dude was clutch here especially in 09, I remember him tying the game against Texas with his 2 out 2 rbi double in game 1.

I remember Skip saying he was possibly one of the best shortstops he’s ever seen at LSU. That’s some damn high praise. He’s certainly proved Skip correct.

Good for him. Screw the Rockies for letting him go

It's been one week, but LeMahieu has been under the radar his career, with Blackmon getting all the hype, so I hope he gets the recognition he deserves in NY. Hoping he has a career year.

It's amazing how close we came to losing that first game up there. That was one of the most clutch things I've ever witnessed

Big Country is DJ was clutch all season. Can you imagine if that had happened what tRNt would be saying about cPM? Hell, would he even still be here? I say “no” because had he not won, he is gone to UT when they came calling.

It was the second greatest hit in LSU baseball history.

This is where I will add my obligatory, should have been the MVP in the 2009 CWS, statement.

The guy was clutch and a total team player at LSU. Moved to another position, to make the team better, during his draft year.

Got to appreciate DJ.

My favorite DJ MLB stat:

LeMahieu's .991 career fielding percentage is No. 1 all time among second basemen who have played 650 or more games.

I figured he'd have better stats this year bc of the lineup that surrounds him compared to the Rockies, but I wasn't expecting it to be this much better. We all know it's still early, but still impressive.
