No offense to divinity, but our defense has been humming without him

I like this part: "“Clyde practiced today with no limitations, ready to go,” said Orgeron"

In which situations has LSU typically been in dime packages?

Hopefully he has decided that smoking weed (that's what his "personal issues" were that he was dealing with...CHOOSING to smoke weed, knowing the ramifications of doing so...) isn't worth losing his career.

Personally, I think his presence will be utilized if a calm, senior leadership role is truly needed, especially since he was used to being a defensive QB. It will take pressure off our young studs to just play.

Coach O stated after practice, Divinity “came in today and did a phenomenal job.” Geaux Tigers

He will probably play in the 3rd and long defense with Brooks and Chaisson and one other LB/DE blitzing.

Our green (pass rush) package we use 1 DL, 4 LB and 6 DB. We use this fairly often in games, almost always on 3rd and long, when teams have to pass to get back into games and also in other obvious passing situations, like say a 2nd 20 or something.

3rd and long.

Look for a package with him, Chaisson, Brooks, and Lawrence as the four down lineman.

Divinity typically came in passing down scenarios or when Aranda wanted to show a pass rush.

This. We’ve used Damone Clark, Ray Thornton, and Andre Anthony as rotating members of this group. They’ve made a few plays, but I don’t think it’s a stretch to say Divinity is a more polished pass rusher than Clark, Thornton, or Anthony.

Something tells me Divinity will come in with something to prove. I think he’ll have 1.5-2 sacks in the game.

I’m really hoping for the half sack when he and Chaisson meet at the tranny QB.

We've been using Thornton and Anthony in a lot of those situations. I'd rather have divinity back there, he does a better job at being active in the play

I think this is bigger than people realize. This guy is coming in as the freshest player on the team and hungry to do something. It's like being amped up for the first game of the season.

He's one of our most consistent pass rushers.

Cole Cubelic, as a guest on Off the Bench, just questioned whether this is a "good idea" based on a worry that it might disrupt the locker room.

I don't think that should be a valid worry since he's been around the team, and practicing (right?), for weeks now, wearing his jersey on the sideline during games and whatnot.

Cole is a moron. Anyone who follows a bunch of players on instagram, which I do, can tell that Divinity is very popular with his teammates. He's always out on the town with them and hanging out in a non-football setting.

That might be a bit harsh, but he's likely not truly informed on Divinity's situation. He may just see it as a suspended player coming back after missing the last 6 games (and 9 total on the year) and being given back "his spot."
