Fayetteville is 529 miles from BR.

Auburn (421 miles) and Bama (349 miles) are closer.

Taxas 8&4, Cow Bell, Ole Piss, and Gumps are all about the same distance. LSU has different rivals depending on sport. Main general rivals are 8&4, Gumps, and Florida. For people over 70, Ole Piss sucks.

We’re closer to Fayetteville than Tuscaloosa and Auburn?
not even close. It’s a pretty decent haul up to Fayetteville

I see comments about our infatuation with the aggie.
We're not infatuated by Astroglide & Mechanical, just grossed out and repulsed by their entirely embraced "Butt Pirate Culture." WE DO NOT LIKE THEM for all that BS!

No, Ole Miss hates us more than any other team. Moo State is just their pesky little brother.

If you don't think that Ole Miss isn't our rival, you haven't been to a game no matter the sport in Oxford. They hate us.

LSU doesn’t really have any rivals since Tulane and Old Miss faded out.

That’s just absurd

You can say that it varies by sport—LSU being a school that doesn’t care about basketball whatsoever—but if we’re talking about football or football/baseball, Ole Miss, Bama, and A&M are right there. The fact that those schools have other rivals doesn’t make us not a rival.

LSU-Alabama has been one of the biggest college football games—nationwide—for nearly 20 years. To say we aren’t rivals is just dumb.

Alabama hasn't been a serious baseball rival since 97

I view Florida as more of a baseball rival than any of those three.

Hence the operative “or” in that sentence.

But I’m guessing you’re one of the people on this site that derive some sort of value in claiming we don’t have rivals. It’s a really weird complex

Always so dumb when people say this. No we don’t have an instate named rivalry game. But Ole Miss, Alabama, and A&M are absolutely rivals.

Ole Miss closes the season with State. Alabama with Auburn. A&M with Texas.

What's the SEC gonna do when Oklahoma starts closing with Oklahoma State again and Arkansas with Mizzou? (Tulane will get a quick invitation back into the SEC)

Our rivalries are situational, which makes them not real rivalries.

Miss State is I think the longest tenured opponent in football. Not sure of the rest. However, it's no fun to have a rival that $ucks in just about everything... LOL
I would say since A&M came into the conference, that would by my #1 to rival with.

What is a “true” rival? This is always such a dumb conversation on here.

What’s so hard to understand? A Tulane fan might say that LSU is their biggest rival but most LSU fans would disagree.

Most SEC schools have an instate rivalry that is bigger than their rivalry with LSU.

We do not have a traditional rival. Stop trying to find one.

All SEC teams are rivals.
