To the guy who posted a specific player should taste a 9mm (post has been deleted), you should seek professional help. If you get this upset over a baseball game, just wait until you graduate from 8th grade. Life gets much more challenging and baseball games aren’t even on the radar. This topic struck a cord because I have a relative who committed suicide 3 weeks ago. It’s nothing to joke about. It is truly life altering. Don’t disrespect these young men who chose to wear purple and gold and represent LSU. Geaux Tigers!

I understand being upset over it but going that far is just childish and pathetic. In the end it's just a game. Some people truly need to grow the frick up.

You're absolutely correct.

I get fans are passionate about the program but when one gets too frustrated, it's time to just walk away from the internet and have a burger or something. Getting on here and ripping players is not the way to go.

Also, I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I do truly mean that. Hang in there, man.

As OP stated this hits way to close to home for me as well

This. I understand people are passionate. (Even if I can't begin to comprehend some people's expectations of the players and coaches every single year expecting a title)

Once it reaches the point of talking about physically harming those involved, be it done by themselves or someone else. It has gone way to far, and speaks to the problems the person who made the comment has.

At the end of the day, these are kids playing a game trying to better themselves. They 99.99 percent of the time they represent the university and themselves with class and dignity and make us proud.

There is no instance where threating harm against those that represent our university, or any for that matter, Is acceptable.

I get standing up for what's right, but I just ignore those comments. They are so absurd that I don't even give them attention. Also, those kind of posts are a very very select few, if that.

There are about 6.5 billion people on this planet who could care less about baseball.

I get upset with LSU sports too but these players are kids. 18-21 year old young adults. My life did not change when the program won 6 national titles. I was joyful for a couple of days. My happiness and worth is not directed by kids playing a game.

We have an element of disgraceful fans who ridicule our players in every sport constantly. I posted a similar message last week.

Sometimes entertainers need tomatoes thrown at them to show our level of entertainment with their performance.

Then go be man enough to throw a tomato, not puss enough to hide behind a keyboard and suggest physical harm.

Yeah, I read that post last night and then just got off of tigerdroppings because I realized it was scumbag City. Same reason I avoid this place on football game days..... And when the bandwagon basketball fans come out.

Yep. My dad did as well in 2009. Sorry for your loss. Suicide is not a joke, but actually a serious problem.

A guy in Colombia murdered Andres Escobar, captain of the national soccer team, because he scored an “own goal” and they lost to the USA.

Agree 1000% w/OP.
That said, I will no longer attend LSU baseball games as long as CPM is associated with the program - I know I will not be missed, but you must take a position at some point. I understand not meeting expectations. I understand mistakes. Throwing kids under the bus like he did to Vietmier & Fontaneau (sp?). No.
He is the poster boy for "disparaging players".

Some people think it's funny to tell someone to go kill themself but suicide is not funny at all to me. Thank you for your post and to all the good people that up-voted.

So true, these are kids, doing their best. I will be first in line to wear out coaches and Blues but the players have always been off limits, always!!!
