In 1986, Bill Arnsparger announced his decision to retire. The BOARD OF SUPERVISORS was in charge of the search. Archer was DC and the players loved him. Steve Spurrier was at Duke and interested in the LSU job. They flew Spurrier in for an interview and allegedly left him at the BR airport without ever interviewing him. Archer was named HC. Spurrier never forgot. He beat the crap out of LSU for over a decade. See worse loss in Tiger Stadium 58-3. Keep politics out of it. Have people with KNOWLEDGE of the coaches and what their peers say. Coaches talk to each other. The information is out there. The BOS has no idea what is being said in the coaching circles….

He has a “show cause” violation which mean he can’t coach at the college level for several years.

IMO I think a coach should have kept his political opinion to himself. It’s a polarizing issue. I didn’t see Saban or Dabo revealing their choice for president. It was a stupid thing to do. The fans may like it, but many of the players may not have.

To the guy who posted a specific player should taste a 9mm (post has been deleted), you should seek professional help. If you get this upset over a baseball game, just wait until you graduate from 8th grade. Life gets much more challenging and baseball games aren’t even on the radar. This topic struck a cord because I have a relative who committed suicide 3 weeks ago. It’s nothing to joke about. It is truly life altering. Don’t disrespect these young men who chose to wear purple and gold and represent LSU. Geaux Tigers!

Totally agree. We’ve taken him down in Omaha several times and we have 6 titles at LSU The guy has been at FSU 40 years and it would be nice to see him retire on top.

Wasn’t high on the hire. But, I figured I’d give him a chance. He kept Aranda, brought in what I thought to be a new offense that would score points and he (O) would be a good recruiter.

As of today, he kept Aranda....the rest is in the dump with his binder. I’ve been a season ticket holder for 22 years. I live in Dallas (obvious in my name) and it’s costly consumes 3 days to make a home game.

I gave up on Miles and didn’t go to any games in 2014 or 15. I went to 1 game in ‘16 and 2 this past fall. Traffic sucks. Parking sucks. Tailgating is NOT what it was 10 years ago and even then it wasn’t what it was 10 years before that. I hate Alleva. I despise F’King and the BOS I don’t trust. I don’t know how JBE managed to become governor. I moved from BR when Blanco was elected...as I promised I would. It takes a lot to get me to the point of bitching. I gave O a shot to keep his promises, but he didn’t.

Do I think the sky is falling? No. We will probably have 8,9 maybe a few 10 win seasons. But, coaches talked about LSU being “a sleeping giant” before Sabin arrived. I just don’t think O can keep the giant awake and bring us a championship.

You are correct. No way LSU fires any coach after 2 seasons for on the field performance. If there is an action that would fall under “with cause”, then he would be let go. While I am extremely disappointed in O’s inability to evolve outside of his comfort zone, it is in our best interest that LSU succeed. It’s much easier to attract a quality coach to a program that is on stable ground. Let’s all take a deep breath and a shot of vodka and pull for the Tigers. After all, it’s the players that are most important. I could never wish them to be losers.
