Right now, there's talk about what could be an annual LSU-TCU series in Dallas beginning in 2013.
Not that I care about TCU but that would be a huge risk to play a series. What if we beat them every time we play? That would be a huge blow to their program

I am not a fan of this move at all but certainly expected it. Supposedly Jerry world pays the selective schools more than they would make at a home game then passes on that cost to the fans.
I really want to see the home/home set up that is already scheduled. As a TCU and LSU faithful, I would love to expose my TCU friends to the all day party that is Tiger Stadium on a Saturday.
For the poster with the obligatory "teams dont want to play LSU at home" keep your uninformed comments to yourself.
For the poster that claims TCU is one of the worst travleling teams in the nation, I will agree that there is not a large # of fans that travel. However, some of that has to do with the comparitive size of the shools. TCU is a much smaller school when viewed by enrollment. Thus as a percentage of graduates and enrolles, Tcu travles fairly well. They are also one of ten FBS schools in TX. With 4 of those considered major FBS schools. Another reason that TCU does not travel well is the distance of travle required as compared to other schools common opponents. I dont expect that to change with the move to the Big East though.

Jerry's World is great but I hope they keep this a home & home series as originally planned. I understand these big neutral site games are big publicity for LSU but I don't think it's worth sacrificing home games for.

So when is our next marquee out of conference home game?

Question: how many is your stadium going to hold after this years expansion?
Maybe we should play the TCU home games at Cowboys Stadium, and keep our home games at TS
Obvious stadium joke is obvious

If you don't like the idea of moving the TCU game out of tiger stadium in 2013 then email LSU admins and voice your concerns. It can't hurt and maybe they'll listen.

A couple of friends run a tcu sports blog. Hornedfrogsports.com
:plugover:
They said living tcu alumni is only about 78,000. Very small base.

Killerfrogs is TCU version of TD FWIW

expansion will not be completed until after june 2012. Initally it was slated to have a seating of 40,000 expandable to 50,000 with just the west side and north endzone rennovations. This was funded entierly by donors with 6 donors giving 15 million each. In June additional donors came forward and now a total of 143 million has been donated and rennovations will include the east side of the stadium also. These plans of course will add to that 50K number but the exact amount has not been published yet that I know of.
Anything in the mid 50,000 and up puts us in equivalent if not higher than some schools from all of the major confreneces.
FWIW the Oregon St./TCU game was a TCU home game held in Jerry world

Killerfrogs is a good site but sadly not nearly as good as this site.

Same here. My sister is a TCU grad and we were just discussing over the holiday weekend that she and her TCU friends should travel to the game at TS and get the full experience for the first time. The game is already scheduled, so I don't see the benefit of moving it to Jerry World.

Have to agree with Bleeding on this point. Considering it's size, location and the fact they've had to travel to the likes of Laramie, Fort Collins and Provo for the last several years, they travel quite admirably.

This would be an awful idea.

Considering the relative enrollment and graduate numbers, I think we showed well at our last couple of big games.

I know.
Hornedfrogsports is more articles and analysis of fball, hoops, and bball. My buddy actually goes in depth on tcu basketball. He is a true believer

And they damn near won the game, as well. I think THAT'S exactly why some teams DO want to play here. You get a large payout, get to play in Tiger Stadium, and have a chance to beat LSU at home in what will, more than likely, be a nationally televised game.
It also takes away the chance for TCU athletes to play in one of the greatest College football cathedrals, Tiger Stadium.
You can't plan on adding luxury boxes or an upper deck to the South Endzone for fans to see us play Northwestern State and McNeese and keep raising the ticket prices and TAF fees to see such games in Tiger Stadium. Big OOC opponents should be played at home.

I don't have a problem with it - I'm guessing this is being done for financial reasons (they will clear more on this single game than they would average with a home/away over two years)
Since college football has gone to a 12 game regular season (instead of 11 games most seasons) I think there is more room to play around with this type of thing.
Keep in mind - with 4 ooc games and 4 home conference games LSU will have 6-8 home games many years... that is still a lot of games. With an 11 game season and 8 conference games you would end up with only 6 home games any year that you played just one OOC team on the road or at a neutral site. So IMO LSU season ticket holders still get to see a lot of football at home
I do think that LSU should be doing some home/aways with major programs esp where our fans would enjoy the road venue... but I'm really not sure that TCU is that kind of team anyway

Agreed we need to keep a minimum of 7 home games a year. With an exception such as this year every 5 years of so max.
