Worst case move Floyd up to friday so if we do use arms they get a day off on Saturday w/ Skenes and can comeback on Sunday depending on pitch count

Why would we move Skenes? It’s like 69% a given win.

No way a team will concede game 1 in a super that way unless their coach is a buffoon or a tRant poster.

Why wouldn’t you do that? Use your best pitcher against Floyd and and your best bullpen game 3. That’s how you beat LSU

Auburn did it and took 2/3 including boat racing us.

Hitting slumped and pitching imploded. They could have pitched their ace Friday and still won 2/3. He’ll we only scored 3 against their alleged #2

That being said, Mississippi state has 1 Floyd level pitcher.

Cijnte has the most innings in SEC play and has a 10.50 ERA in conference.

Well State’s situation is a bit different. They should be trying for all 3 games.

They’re doing the sand thing Auburn did. Ace is throwing Saturday

State doesn't have the pitching to do this but then again neither did Auburn and they motorboated us.

How much impact has the tight strike zones affected the pitchers era this year? How many walks would have been strikeouts in previous years? Just speculation

It's definitely had an impact across the conference.

It’s really not hard.

Regional: You probably go with whoever the third starter is at that time and beat a SWAC/Southland team by 10 then Skenes in the marble game then Floyd In first championship game. Then whoever available in if necessary game. At that point whoever you are playing will not have the pitching to shut this lineup down.

Supers: Skenes, Floyd, best available.

Not really a good thread to discuss this, but did you hear about the Hurston Waldrep’s illegal delivery decision?

Listening to the D1 Week 13 Preview and they mentioned it.

quote:

Waldrep, who transferred to Florida after two seasons at South Mississippi, looked rather uncomfortable in his new form, which was reflected in his lackluster stat line of 4.2 innings pitched with four runs allowed on six hits and four walks and a season-low four strikeouts. The hard-throwing righty seemed to tinker with his delivery as the game progressed but never quite found his groove.

But O’Sullivan revealed after the game that Waldrep’s shaky mechanics and underwhelming start were really no fault of his own.

Despite having played the vast majority of the regular season, O’Sullivan said he was notified that Waldrep’s previous delivery was illegal due to a short pause in his motion, which has been present all year. “There was some discrepancy in his delivery where he’s stepping forward,” O’Sullivan said, clearly perturbed. “I mean we’re 11 weeks in and we’re just now getting word of it? We didn’t have enough time to make some adjustments with that.

If there’s something with his delivery that is illegal, I wish we would have found out before the eleventh week of the season, to be honest with you. We didn’t have enough time to make adjustments this week.”

No surprise KOS is bitter but it is a shitty situation.

I hadn't seen that, but I would have lost a bet on who would have brought it to the umpires attention. That's a Tim Corbin-esque move.

But as much as I hate him and his short arms, shitty sunglasses, and murder-suicides, he's right.

Every season is different. Last year we pitched Hilliard game 1 and Floyd game 2.

I have said in other posts the starters for game 1 and 2 of the regionals to be Floyd and then Skenes respectively. However, I said staff, as in the staff as a whole. It is not out of the question for Jay to keep his same outlook he did last year but how does he approach game 3. Man some of y'all.
