re: Did Lindsey know about the guns in his dorm?

Barring some deus ex machina work by his attorney, Lindsey is done as far as LSU goes.
I don't know the LSU Housing rules, but I gotta think letting two non-students crash in your dorm for multiple days is not allowed.
More than that, having guns in your dorm room has to be prominent on the list of donts. Think about the average rules-abiding student. LSU has an obligation to protect its students. How does it answer a parent who wants to know how a kid gets away with having automatic weapons in his room? Zero tolerance.
Lindsey may not see jail time, but certainly he will never be allowed to enroll at LSU again.

Of course, he could just get probation. We'll see
Seeing the comment about the US Marshalls picking the friends up...does that mean this is now a federal case?
If people want this kind of thing to end, he needs to be fully punished. College athletes are the most pampered youth in our society. It's only getting worse too. They need to see that lessons are taught.
Obviously the fans don't care about that, but it's needed for society.

He’s got Georgia written all over him.

The best thing you can do is resign yourself to the fact that JT Lindsey will never play a down of football at LSU and knock off all this grasping at straws bullshite.

I agree with what you said but want to point out that the AR-15 and the Draco are not automatic weapons.

Except for the fact that the University is involved in the multitude of violations occurred in student housing. I doubt they are going to let him stay enrolled and/or on campus until this plays out in court. It’s not like he got caught with a bag of weed in his dorm room.

How could he not have? The question is whether they were used in the crime I would guess. It’s possible they could have snuck them in, but it sure ended up costing him a lot of money before he ever faces a potential jury.
People who have nothing positive in their lives going on have nothing to lose. These guys are going to have to learn to cut the dead weight from their lives.

I'll never understand the choices these kids make. If the NFL is something they think is a potential outcome of your collegiate career, why on Earth would you let someone stash a bunch of guns and crash at your apartment?
Assuming he knew what was going on . . . There’s a culture in the US that values loyalty to the group above all else and is steeped in an “us against everyone” mentality.
It’s not a great excuse, but it’s a plausible explanation.

Lindsey has a timer on him. The court can push this back for years and take football away from him forever.
They don’t care about the football. That’s you who cares about it.

As it should be. It sucks he is in this situation, but this type of behavior can’t be tolerated or it will never stop.
This is a life lesson and hopefully he and others will realize that this kind of behavior is not acceptable

You're naive if you think the prosecutor isn't going to use that as a weapon.
As long as Lindsey tries to defend himself, he'll be suspended by LSU.

Whatever he knew about the guns. This person can never be on LSUmcampus ever again
Posted on 8/10/25 at 2:47 pm to Shiftyplus1
They go along because they’re members of the same criminal gang as the fugitives and are required to help each other out or face consequences.

They can’t promise him crap. If he admits fault he is also gone from LSU. He’s charged with accessory to murder. They don’t give a crap about leveraging football. Even if they used it as a tactic in an interview, it’s totally irrelevant. Nor can they just push it back years because they want to hurt his football chances. Unfortunately for him, prosecutions for a homicide trial take a while. Often times that’s because of the defense. He isn’t just waiting on his trial but the trials of the murderers as well.

I never bought the whole “he didn’t know they were fugitives” angle

According to an article in The Advocate this morning, the guns had nothing to do with his arrest. " He is facing one count of accessory after the fact to second degree murder after authorities accused him of housing suspects in an Alexandria -area killing inside his dorm room. According to an affidavit Lindsey was seen numerous times entering & exiting his dorm several times with the suspects. Investigators believe Lindsey was aware the 2 were accused of the killing according to the affidavit for his arrest." His atty denies Lindsey knew. Alexandria PD said that there was a large media blitz involving social media as well as regular media; noting that Alex is a small town & the 3 went to high school together, along with the victim. Still, proving someone knew this or that will be difficult, so can see a plea deal down to a lessor charge.

Pretty sure the dorms have keyless entry.
It has been reported that the fugitives were using his student ID to access the electric locks on the dorm building.
