Screw Bama, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, and Arkansas. I hope they lose every game.
With that same exception, I'd rather West wins over East as it boosts the LSU perception nationally.

I pull for all except bama. I also refuse to capitalize the word "alabama".

I used be part of the SEC,SEC,SEC,SEC mantra. But I finally realized this does not benefit LSU in anyway. To hell with the SEC and if the right opportunity presented itself I might even support LSU leaving the SEC. This league does absolutely nothing for LSU.

The only time I ever pull for an SEC team is if it helps LSU in some way. Other than that, screw them.

I’ve always been an LSU fan and understood that pulling for other SEC teams was dumb. All those idiots who pulled for Bama, you feel better about yourself now?

I love LSU and the SEC. I will always root for an SEC team over any OOC team.
I live in Big 12 country and I remember when Big 12 and SEC were battling for top conference. I found myself constantly arguing why SEC was better and not overrated.
It is my southern pride + having to battle other conference fans is why I root for the SEC.
When you live outside SEC county you seem to appreciate the SEC more.

I've never had SEC pride. LSU gets the short end of the stick at every turn in this conference.
Here's a stat that should end any SEC rah rah bullshite. Alabama's last 4 coaches have had at least one team that led the conference in fewest penalties. That should be impossible. To take that a little further, when Saban was at LSU his teams were some of the most penalized in the league. At Bama, they are always in the top 3 fewest penalized and obviously the least penalized team over his 10+ years there.
This conference is a crooked joke.

I never ever ever bought into that crap.
I've been saying frick the SEC since I signed up here, nothing's changed.

But after the 2011 championship game having any SEC pride just seemed foolish.
It has always been foolish to take pride in something you haven’t accomplished. We’re just fans, there’s no pride to take.

If you’re pro SEC then you’re not an LSU fan. Period.

This makes no sense whatsoever and is one of the silliest things I've heard in a long time.

Wishing ill on Ar-Kansas validates their rivalry delusion.
But screw UForfeit (obvious), 'Bama (Saban was still a jerk, but I do respect them as a good football team--I'm just sick of them), Auburn (some of the best football in the sport at any level is b/t us), and Ol' Piss (classic rivalry) in that order. Everyone else, I'm cool with--just beat them.

Agreed. Been getting screwed so long by Hoover, don’t give two shites
For rest.
For rest.

Very stupid statement. I root for LSU against any team. When the SEC is good, it makes our victories look good. SOS counts when getting into the playoffs.

I've never had SEC pride. I root for LSU and to heck with the other schools except Tennessee only because of a family member.

Yes. The Bama mulligan completely changed the way I pulled for the SEC. I only pull for LSU, South Carolina, and Vandy now. frick the rest.

the longer I am an SEC fan, the more I hate every team in the conference not named LSU
While i do contend that the SEC being in good shape (winning) does help LSU in recuiting against other conferences....i still hate other SEC schools.
I can root for teams like UGA, Arky, Tenn, etc, but i have no ability to ever pull for Bama, Auburn, or UF. Its just not physically possible.

To Hell with the SEC. I rooted like crazy for Clemson over Bama a couple of years ago.
Posted on 7/27/18 at 11:43 am to ctiger69
I view the rest of the SEC like annoying co-workers. I want them to do their jobs well enough to make mine easier, but I never want the bastards to get promoted over me.

Its only gon to serve the teams who make it through the league near the top. As we have become less relevant, that position has gone stale because it only served the interests of Alabama to recognize their accomplishments in beating us and whoever else and in doing so given them better benefits in the selection process.
Conference prestige meant more pre 2011 for two reasons. One reason was the reality was that it was unequivocal and undeniable that the SEC was deeeper, tougher, and superior by any meaningful performance measure.
Two, LSU was always apart of that equation every year and we gained status and benefits from it with the BCS.... so we bought into it. Hell, LSU actually most heavily benefited from it In 2007 when we weren’t capable of determining our own fate when we dropped games in October and November to Kentucky and Arkansas.
We bought it bc it was actually the reality the SEC was supperior and we were apart of that reality and by being apart of it, we benefitted from it. However, now we have had people drop that line of thought for good reason. We haven’t been relevant to the chase for the SEC crown or divisional for some time. Why help Alabama’s cause? We have also dropped that line of thought because it is absolutely true that the SEC just isn’t very good anymore. Way more so than it was and in most years you can make a case that other conferences were better.
When we get great again, it will once again go through the same cycle and people will pick it up again once they see how it help us when the committee looks at us in evaluating our schedule strength.
