Coach has no desire to participate in public gossip, if you knew hi you wouldn't make such an ignorant statement.
He did send this letter to Culotta:
Jordy, you should be ashamed of yourself for your totally false story and never having the courtesy to call me before you spoke your diatribe. Nothing could be further from the truth but it appears you were not looking for the truth. You are 100% wrong. Mark Twain said, " Never let the truth get in the way of a good story."
To set you straight, I love LSU, Baton Rouge, and Louisiana that is why we have lived here for 48 years. For you to use the words disgusting and sabotaging is really ludicrous. Contact Shaquille and ask him if I influenced his son not to attend LSU.
Maybe, you can learn from the following journalists and not make the same mistake again; I sure hope so. I carry no ill will toward you but hope you will be more prudent the next time someone gives you gossip which could not be further from the truth.
James Redfield in his book The Tenth Insight said, " I am a journalist. In the past we at least attempted to do our jobs with certain standards of integrity. But no longer. It is all hype and sensationalism and no one is looking for the truth anymore or trying to present it in the most accurate way. Journalists are looking for the scoop, the most outrageous perspective and every bit of dirt they can dig up."
Well respected journalist Howard Kurtz always tells it like it is. " We are the architects of our own misfortune, sacrificing our credibility for a misguided notion for what sells."
William Rhoden longtime credible reporter stated," The competition has created an instinctive twitch a sometimes dangerous reflex that acts without contemplating the cost in ruined lives and soiled reputations."
Don Graff in Newspaper Enterprise Association wrote a powerful article, Image Of The Press Is Now Dim. " The press, if we are to believe what we hear, is widely regarded as arrogant, overbearing, biased, and obsessed with sensation and more interested in getting a story than in the rights of individuals and the interests of the nation."

He sent Jordy a letter? How did you become privy to it?
Posted on 7/12/20 at 1:39 pm to GeorgeTheGreek
1. I doubt Dale wrote that.
2. Using members of the MSM as a measuring stick for
Journalism integrity has no meaning at this time.
I'd take Jordy's integrity over any hack writer propped up by a phony reputation.

Where did you get this letter? Link?

OldTiger’s post history is quite interesting...

Typical Dale. Four sentences to defend himself & all the rest is just his typical B.S.He has notebooks of quotes like these & just pulls up the ones he feels fits. Too many around LSU know all about his dark side.

You REALLY don’t want to get into a character debate and bending of rules when it comes to Coach Brown. Below are a couple examples:
All you have to do is go look at John Williams (fat John Williams and not Hot Rod) hanging with bookies while at LSU.
I have first hand knowledge of some of the “summer jobs” that a certain booster gave to basketball players that would be VERY questionable.
Why do you think he pushed so hard for players to get paid? I also do not believe a word about Shareef coming to LSU as far as Brown assisting. Total Bull shite. Otherwise, he wold have been there from the beginning.

Why has Dale Brown not come out and asked Dick Vitale to stop his personal attacks against Will Wade? If Dale Brown truly loved LSU he would be defending Will Wade from the trash like Vitale and Wolken.

No mention of loving Wade which is the center of the story.

Choupique19, well said. Dale should be the first one Ripping Vitale for his Bullshite, especially since they both came up in the same era.
It's just a joke, Vitale wanting to name the court after Dale leaving the program riddled on probation, now attacking Wade for allegations.

Sorry, the post should have said Coach sent him an email, not a letter. There is no link, I was copied on it.

Yeah. I don’t believe this for a second.

I actually wouldn't doubt it one bit. It is written like something Dale Brown would write. Dale Brown also typically CCs a lot of other people in his emails.

quote:Not only this, but if I'm Dale Brown and my name is being pulled into the middle of this thing, I'm coming out swinging to defend myself and call it bullshite ASAP. This is what leads me to believe that it's true. I know a lot of times people say if it isn't true don't worry about it. But a lot of times the silence as feedback gives people a strong suspicion to believe it.
