On his weekly spot with T-bob and Hester, Sting Sr. says Lee has had a great spring and should be a big contributor in the fall. I see Lee’s name mentioned a lot but we haven’t seen much of him in his first two years. I’m hoping he breaks out this season. He also mentions Jay Ward looking really good at FS.

I've said it a few times on here, but I hope Devonta Lee plays like Deebo Samuel. Another 6'0" tall and bulkier receiver with high athleticism that bullies DBs with his strength.

Think he's got about 20 lbs on Ward

Ward was a bulldog (UGA and in the way he played). But he fought with fire, not necessarily superior size and strength.

ETA:

Deebo and Devonta are both around 6'0" 220 I believe. They are like a good size RB. While Ward was 6'0" 200.

If Lee plays anything like Deebo we’re in great shape. Not sure if Lee is that explosive though. I hope he has a great season. Dude has a lot of talent.

Sounds like Lee, Bradford, Farrell, Smith. and Evans are making their move.

Deebo Samuel fits the mold for a RB/WR hybrid position if that is even a thing. He gets tough yards like an RB and can run inside sweeps, screens and catch the ball over the middle like a WR. He's not taking the top off the defense but he offers a different dimension to the defense that gives LBs fits. Not only do LBs have to handle the RB coming out of the backfield and TE off the line but they also have to handle Deebo on inside sweeps and down screens.

If Devonta Lee can emulate 30% of Deebo the LSU offense is going to be fun to watch.

Wide receiver. Probably going to play him at the Z so they can move him around a lot pre-snap.

Yes. His name was Josh Reed.

Deebo has plenty of speed.

I don't think Lee is anywhere in the ballpark from a speed standpoint.

Stingley Sr is unreliable. He said Mo Hampton was the best safety in the nation, or one of the nest.

I wonder if Stingley Sr. is making his judgement from comments from Stingley Jr. If Sr.'s info is coming from Jr. I trust it more given the fact that Jr. is probably going up against Lee in practice

Glad to hear this news.We need soph's and jr's to explode on the scene again. Depth is important and we have not always had it. Excited to see the new attitude of this years squad.

He can be shifty or smooth, has good ball skills - I'm surprised he hasn't already made more of an impact. I chalk it up to the quantity of quality in our receiver corps, which (and I'm aware of Alabama's recent/current team) has been one of the best and deepest in modern college football history over the past 3 or 4 seasons for sure.

6'2 224. If he blocks, it sounds like he could really fit that jack of all trades role like a Kyle Juszczyk

I think he actually has a lot of Anquan Boldin in his game. Lee is a great athlete at 6’2 225. Hopefully he’s gotten the technical aspects of playing receiver/TE down to get on the field more.
