True, which is why those saying he's wrong for wanting to come back are not too bright

His priorities and opinions for his life are all that matter.

And what if he gets injured? Or he doesn't have a great year? He'd be gambling the small chance his stock rises with a greater chance it falls. If he was your son, what would you tell him to do?

A bird in the hand and all...

If he was my son I'd tell him do what makes him happy and him happy only and block out what everyone else thinks. There are no second chances at self fulfillment in this situation.

Shut up with this “as he should be” shite.

I don’t understand you geeks that keep on with this narrative.
It’s so fricking annoying.

NEWSFLASH:

IT DOESNT MAKE YOU A BETTER PERSON OR “FAN” TO SPORT THIS OPINION
There’ll be no prizes or awards given to you.
You will not share in his signing bonus or any future compensations by the NFL.

Be a fan of LSU and want what’s best for the team.
What’s best for he team is to have best available players playing.
If DW wants to come back... hallelujah!

I see a lot of people saying it's a dumb, stupid move if LB Devin White comes back. If the kid is enjoying college life and really having fun playing at LSU why can't he return? Some folks are cut from a different clothe take for example CB Greedy Williams said to hell with the bowl game I'm out. And LB Devin White said it was never a question about him playing in the Fiesta Bowl he wanted to finish with him and his teammates started. So it wouldn't surprise one bit if White decides to return that young man is very special.

Correct me if im wrong, but did every one of the tigers you just cited win a natty champ?

Dwayne Bowe and Landry did their freshan season, still came back, both drafted in the 1st round. Beckwith, no. Dorsey did his senior year wouldn't have had he not returned. Addai did his freshman year, still came back, went in the 1st round. Williams did his sophomore year, still came back. Chevis Jackson won one his senior year, wouldn't have had he declared. Tyson Jackson did his junior year, still came back, drafted #3 overall. Perry Riley did his freshman year, still came back.

Now you tell me how that's relevant? Or are you trying to make an argument for White returning due to having unfinished business?

Devin.....Tigernation Loves you and would love to see you keep playing in the P&G.

That being said, go get that money young man. It was a helluva ride and you will be missed.

Get paid.

I was genuinely curious, but i was also hoping to connect winning/playing in national championships to having elite talent stay through their senior seasons.

I would like to clear up the stigma that if he was to stay and get injured, most people seem to believe that he would no longer get drafted and he would not get paid any money. I 100% guarantee that any injury that is not career ending (broken neck or spine) will not stop NFL teams from drafting him and getting paid.

All of those were clear cut first round picks at the end of their junior seasons?

several of them, yes

Being drafted in the NFL is totally different as well now also, as far as $$ is concerned.

is it really though? Tyson Jackson's first contract was for $57MM and $31MM guaranteed. That is more money than Baker Mayfield signed for this past year. The 3rd overall pick this past draft, Sam Darnold, signed for $30MM and $20M guaranteed.

Glen Dorsey signed for $51MM and #23MM guaranteed as the 5th overall pick. The 5th overall pick this past year signed for $27MM and $18MM guaranteed.

The NFL draft is a lot different now. Top picks are paid less than they were 10 years ago (thanks to contracts like Jamarcus Russell), and player's are more reliant on their second contract.
