When rumblings came out that Henderson was battling for a roster spot and could possibly be cut, the Saints took an interest in it because we just lost our deep threat WR in Joe Morgan to a torn ACL.

Im pretty sure the Saints will sign Devery. Or at least make an attempt. Especially considering he knows the playbook already and knows Brees. And hes a great teammate and would help the younger WRs on the team improve. Stills looks promising and I think Devery could help him out a lot.

Sad for Devery. A great Saint and It would be great for them to sign him so he could retire a Saint.

Hundreds??? And established vets aren't eligible for a "practice squad spot", so I doubt they're begging for one.

shanahan just said on nfl insider that he respects the veterans and had given devery the heads up a while ago, b/c of the time he had missed (?) and that they were going in a different direction.

With the injuries the Saints have had at WR maybe he could get a second look there.

You'd think the Chargers would be an option too.

Man, I was stoked when the Skins picked him up this offseason. I thought he would be a great deep threat for RGIII. If they cut him and keep Stallworth, I'm gonna be madder than ....
I never liked Stallworth. I remember from his Saints days, he would make a few (and far between) incredible plays, and drop all the easy passes.
I too hope someone picks Henderson up. I'll always have love for Mr. Bluegrass Miracle.

He could go to San Diego with their WR core being destroyed by injuries

Devery dates the field foreman's daughter I work for offshore. I texted the foreman this morning asking if he heard about Devery's released & he told me that his Devery & his daughter knew of the release from the Redskins last night. My foreman just texted me saying Devery is on his way to San Diego right now to take a physical for the Chargers. The Chargers have been bitten hard by the injury bug at receiver. The one's who guessed San Diego as a destination point look good at this point.

Unfortunately for Devery, it doesn't look like the Chargers are gonna do much of anything this year.

Never would have thought DH would have a better NFL career then Michael Clayton, especially the way both of their NFL careers started.

Devery's only plus in years past is that he got separation . What bc of his catching skills are willing to take it on the chin across the middle like lance Moore . He must have lost his ability to separate

I loved Devery for the Saints and LSU - no EGO. He just played and made a difference on both teams.

I love Devery Henderson and always will.

With that said, I am not shocked at all. Brees made him look a whole lot better than he really was.

Damn. They are awful at the WR position, too.

He has really slowed down and was struggling in practice, badly. Garcon and Morgan are healthy, coupled with Moss in the slot and either Hankerson or Robinson as our 4th receiver. Add to that the fact we will run a lot of two TE sets with Paulsen and Davis, and there really was no place for him on the roster.
