He was a phenom in 2019. No "what ifs" needed. He proved his potential on the field.

That said, I'll go to my grave believing that his injuries were overstated and used as a method to "opt out" of the last season and a half of his college career.

The two biggest LSU what-ifs are (1) Perrilloux in 2008, forcing LSU to play Harvard Hatch and Freshman Lee; and (2) Mathieu in 2012, causing LSU to lose in Gainesville 14-6 with 17 straight Florida runs and the game losing T.J. Yeldon screen against Alabama.

Even if he did why is that a negative? Chase quit the entire year. People opt out of their sn year all the time.

What if Josh Booty came to LSU from high school vs trying baseball first may be a bigger what if.

It's one of two guys, Ryan Perrilloux or Cecil Collins with an honorable mention to Alley Broussard.

1.) I have RP at 1 because he had been waiting to take the reins and then the future looked bright based on his limited PT.

2.) Cecil Collins would be 2 because you already knew exactly what he could do and could only imagine what things would have looked like if he had been able to continue on that path.

HM) I submit as an honorable mention, Travonte Valentine. It would have been nice to see him develop and realize his potential. Alas, he was all ate up with the dumbass.

I actually thought about him. I'm just not sure he was real, all his pics were blurry.

for me it’s honey badger in 2012

I'm still bitter we didn't have him that year.

With an actual QB in Mett we absolutely would have won the SEC with HB added as well

Has anyone mentioned Zach Lee.

On Stingley, are his tackling skills on par for competing at the next level. I seem to remember some pretty good wifs, but could have been due to injury.

He was not the best defensive player on the team. There were two defensive backs better than him, Chaisson was also better and Queen.

None of this is true.

No we wouldn't have. Our coaches/play calling were not consistent week in week out for the SEC grind. And Mett seems to have grown into a Rothlesberger type legend as the years have passed, but there were a boat load of negatives in his overall game...feeling the rush and moving with the pocket being just 2 on a much longer list. But yes, HB couldn't have hurt on D and returns that's for sure.

Cecil Collins and Randy Livingston are the biggest "what ifs" in LSU history.

And obviously Bo Rein

He actually played in the games? Yeah, that would have been helpful. We just fed and coached him for 3 years while he sat on the sidelines planning for NFL.

I understand their circumstances and journey were different but I feel about him the same way I do/did Ben Simmons.
