The dude had an amazing freshman year, but then only played a total of 10 games his last two seasons.

He’s gonna be great at the pro level, but he really mailed it in after the 2019 season.

I agree, and I really do question his motivations. However, if we were competing for the SEC the last 2 years, don't you think things would have looked a little different as well? There's a reason we cleaned house, including Corey Raymond

He certainly has the talent, but his college career would suggest that he is coddled and soft. This will not play well at the next level.

I think we need to stop over thinking things with Stingley. It’s fair to wonder about the OP question but in terms of him “mailing it in” or “quitting” everyone needs to chill

Great freshman year and helped win a National title

2020 was a disaster for everyone on the team and i think he only missed those last two games plus the opener

‘21 he had a legitimate injury that he apparently tried to play through the first month of the season and then aggravated, making it worse. You don’t just “make up” a lisfranc fracture and have surgery.

We’ll always have 19 and an elite Stingley doesn’t make much of a difference on either of our last two terrible teams

I know it’s not a popular opinion around here, but I tend to believe he was indeed battling injuries. I don’t think anyone with the kind of payday he was looking forward to is going to risk complications from a surgery before signing a contract unless that surgery is actually necessary.

Yeah, his dad said some stupid shite on the radio. But two things can be true:
1. Stingley dealt with injuries in 2020 and 2021.
2. His dad was way too sensitive about any criticism.

They aren’t mutually exclusive.

Actually got NIL deals last year and still didn’t play. Quit essentially after we lost our first game. He’s another reason why we needed a complete cultural change—when your best player quits after 1 goddamn loss.

He has the potential to be an Elite Corner in the NFL. And I truly hope the best for him. But I do not even think he is going to show any love toward LSU for how is last two years went.

But I wish him the best and will always remember how good he was in 2019.

I don’t call a guy who won a title as the best defensive player on the team a “what if”. Danielle Hunter is a “what if”.

People are entirely too hard on stingley.

The kid loves lsu and always wanted to play here.

Has dbu tatted on his arm. I'm sure he will rep dbu and lsu in the nfl.

Seems like people take the down years out on him.
