If tweet fails to load, click here. This is absolutely enormous for Americans and is exactly what every single person on this site voted for.
"Since 2009, just these companies alone have requested almost 3 million foreign workers. They've received over 230,000 H1B visas approvals and over 100,000 permanent labor certifications."
"That's hundreds of thousands of jobs that were taken from American workers!"
Without PERM program, these companies can't sponsor foreign workers for green cards. Trump just shut off their path to keep these people in the US.

Good. We need some class action lawsuits to go along with this. Give them the cigarette company treatment.

The MAGA folks expect that Trump to do everything in the first hundred days. Life doesn’t work like this, but he’s doing what he said he’s gonna do, and this is proof

If tweet fails to load, click here. VP JD Vance announces federal investigations into 9 UNIVERSITIES for visa fraud and undercutting American citizens
Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Brown, the University of Pittsburgh, UC Davis, Caltech, Arizona State, and MIT
"These universities are employing J1 visas for federally funded grants at a rate of about 61%. The national average is 38%. So something weird is going on at these universities!"

Was this for all of them or just a select few companies? Your subject is confusing

If this actually goes through, I’ll give credit where it is due. These large tech firms have been using cheap Indian labor to undercut American IT/analyst workers for over a decade now
I’m sure these companies are going to lean more into AI and still not hire Americans though. They are driven by quarterly profit margins, not reality

Hell yes! I hope this is accurate and an overblown fake announcement that accomplishes nothing.
Great to see our government is at least recognizing how bad this situation has become.

Hard to believe... this may be an understatement. The only people complaining with be groups related to the hundreds of billions of dollars being sent overseas and their lobbyists.
Unless, they have Boasberg on speed dial, that is.

My former employer is in the top 5 on that list. I too was replaced by an H1B.
Keep up the good work, JD.

Add Tech Mahindra to the list. They’re as bad as Infosys and work with many of the same clients.
shite it down, shut it all down.

So they are getting cheap labor while also turning all their products into subscription based pricing
Must be nice

Most are being used in SW development and are going to be replaced by AI in the next 6 months to a year.
There won't be jobs for them so, send them back home.

"There has been no company in the United States, unfortunately, that has abused this system more than Microsoft."
Microsoft laid off 6,000 American workers in 2025 after certifying that it could not find qualified American employees — yet the company was approved for more than 6,000 H-1Bs and filed 3,682 PERM applications, including nearly 1,000 applications for the same positions as the laid off American workers.

The timing does seem strange. Just when they're trying to get manufacturing back here and fighting back against fraudulent visas, AI and robotics are booming. Looks like these companies can take advantage of coming back here for the tariff incentives and still not have to hire anybody. Also citizens and other countries are now starting to demand more pay.
