His offensive approach isn’t particularly creative or difficult to decipher. He just had a really outstanding QB and WRs operating at a ridiculously high level this year. He knows those guys won’t be here next season and his offense (by default) is going to drop in production. Knowing that, he was smart to leverage this season, which is VERY likely the best season he will ever have, in to one last big payday. Either from LSU or (apparently) ND.

Losing him is not “nothing”. But it’s not devastating either. LSU can replace him.

Denbrock is solid and definitely will be missed, but LSU will be fine. IMO, JD and the WRs have a lot more to do with the offense than the playcaller.

Breaking news but JD5, Nabors and Thomas are gone

They hid a lot

Offense was soft on short yardage run plays.

The Philly push play almost never worked.

They had one other run play in two directions.

Not convinced denbrock knows how to run a more traditional vertical offense anyways

Isn’t it Brian Kelly’s offensive system

Good. Now maybe we'll finally have some goal line and 4th down QB sneaks from under center

Why would he pick a lateral move to a program hampered by academic standards in recruiting?

He must really hate the Louisiana summers.

Because he's pretty damn close to retirement. He doesn't give a shite where things stand in 5 years as he'll be gone.

It's not even a lateral move. It's a step down.

Schematically I feel he relied too much on quarterback runs. He was very fortunate to be able to utilize Daniels talent.

lol call it coping if you want, but Denbrock is not an offensive mastermind.

We had an elite QB (built by Sloan) throwing to 2 first round WRs and that QB could also extend plays and scramble for 15+ yards on any given down.

That's not scheme. That's athletes getting it done.

Mike Denbrock is in his fricking 60s and just had his best season BY FAR.

Do you think the man got that much better overnight?

Or do you think he somehow fell into a situation that he couldn't mess up?

How much of Denbrock’s success can be attributed to having J.D., Nabers, Thomas, etc.?

Notre Dame currently has a better recruiting class than LSU. The narrative that ND can't get high level recruits is overplayed.

It’s more about his wife & kids, IMO

I mean, we bash the shite out of BR so why complain when outsiders don’t like it

Sloan was OC at LA Tech for a few years.
Did he have success calling the offense at LA Tech?

If we end up losing Denbrook and keeping House, I will have the meltdown of all meltiest melts.
