I literally think we could get together 5 baws from the Coaching Changes board and conduct a more competent search than these buffoons did.

Lack of political will. Do the Huizenga, go camp out in the front yard until he meets with you. Pay him his money.

Would have made Herman an offer he couldn't refuse. LSU lowballed him and didn't pay him what it would take. LSU made Nick Saban the third highest paid coach in the country and shocked everyone. I'd say that decision set us up pretty nicely. Today Joe Alleva just told all of the NCAA that we aren't really willing to pay top dollar for the top coaches.

LSU officials saw what one person called “powerful” locker room videos of players chanting Orgeron’s name, and they received messages from those who witnessed the emotional scene – more signs of the 55-year-old Cajun coach’s culture-changing ways that athletic director Joe Alleva spoke of Saturday.

“It turned the tide,” one source said of the Thanksgiving night events.

Hmmm, where have I seen this before

The LSU admin is not dumb enough to think this is a rational way to make such decisions. They are duplicitous enough, however, to make the decisions based on such criteria because they know it gives them cover.
Alleva is about Alleva, not about LSU.

You would have made Herman THAT big an offer - a guy that can't seem to win the games he's supposed to win? You are a bigger frick than our AD ever was.

What top notch Coach would that be? Herman is more unproven than O and Fisher wasn't serious. Who is the home run hire then?

He basically announced we are a second rate program and then bragged about it.

I truly hope I'm wrong but it will not take any more than this 2017 football season to see the frick up that has happened. Because of fricking alleva we now have to play 5 that's right Tiger fans 5 away SEC games next year at UF, Bama, MSU, Ole Miss and Tenny . I'm hoping there is no Buyout in O's contract, God Alleva couldnt be that stupid could he and I'm sure by that time Alleva and O will be both unemployed.

The only thing O has proven more than Herman is how to fail as a head coach in the SEC.

All Coach O has proven is that he can backstab the head coach, walk into a loaded team and proceed to go 5-2 while beating below average teams. Oh, and he proved he can go 3-21 in the SEC when running his own program.

It's one thing to walk around w your chest out and wear the BOOSTER sweater, and another to actually be a booster.

LSU is full of blowhards.

I spend roughly $10,000 in tickets and travel yearly, but that was when I truly thought we cared about winning. I understand the situation completely. I don't blame LSU.

I accept that we are not elite. And I'm not paying to act like it any more.

I like Orgeron. Wish him well. Also wish I didn't realize what was said to me today, but LSU gambled w my patience and lost. Sort of. Not cashing in, but there's a part of my passion that died today, and that will result in less support for my beloved alma mater.

I understand not wanting to let Herman play games, and maybe Jimbo was emphatic.

But I agree with you, there was no reason not to continue just in case somebody had a change of heart or another admin somewhere else made a mistake.

These guys are on conf calls continuously and come in contact many times during bowl season. Who knows what other options were out there, or might have revealed themselves.

Waiting a couple of more weeks would not have affected anythying.

**There is one, and only one, caveat to this: for all we know coaches like Raymond and Aranda expressed interest in staying if CEO stayed, at least through next year and that was a trigger. And that got turned backwards by the rumor mill / media (wouldn't be the first time).

How many of these pro Orgeron idiots ar too young to remember that this is exactly how Mike Archer got the job over Spurrier! Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
