If LSU can run the ball it will be a slaughter. Not worried about the defense. I think it will be much better than most think.

I've had a couple of older acquantances or coworkers tell me they're done with LSU and college athletics over all this NFL player TRO and NIL business. I tell them that's fine, but I'll be in that stadium Saturday night yelling my arse off.

First thing that came to mind was, "Well, Bye." Bunch of loser, defeatist energy from folks like that. I still don't understand the need for some of our fanbase to need to be liked by other fan bases.

My plan is to drink my face off at the tailgate and lose my voice. 12-0, here we come.

I'm leaving at halftime. Need to beat the 3rd quarter crowd.

This is not like every other LSU game though. Kiffin opener, media bashing him for leaving for 8 months, two weeks of play eligibility scrutiny, new offense, same if not better defense, not to mention poor little Dabo walking into Death Valley.

And that will generate fan enthusiasm for Clemson's first few possessions. After that, the game status and flow take over...like EVERY other game.

quote:

I went to the VT opener that was not like “every other lsu game” and this one is trending 10x what that one was

The crowd was fired up at the beginning, just like it will be for this game..and has been for every big game in the stadium for decades. But the crowd STAYED engaged and loud at the VA Tech game because LSU scored TDs on its first two possessions while forcing 3 and outs on VA Tech's first few possessions. LSU then got an interception and scored 10 more points making the score 24-0 before the 10:00 mark of the 2nd quarter. It was LSU totally dominating the game from literally the very first possession that kept the crowd loud and engaged. If that happens again on Saturday the crowd will stay loud and engaged, as I said. But if things flip the other way the crowd won't be as loud and engage. Thus, the statement that after the first few possessions all of the offseason buildup is irrelevant. The game itself drives the atmosphere from that point on...the same as it has been for DECADES

We should have OOC games like this at home every year. Finally a good at home at night out of conference game. When was our last one. West Virginia or Virginia Tech? UCLA doesn't count, it was a day game hotter than the surface of the sun.

Yeah I said the same thing about the national championship against Clemson. We'll start out slow, eventually we'll figure out what they are doing, and then pull away. Clemson is going to try to disguise everything and use new plays, etc. and the sooner we figure it out, the better.

41-3 and Clemson is gonna have to clean house by the end of the year just like we did to Miami that one time.

Dude I tried telling you last year that Clemson's OL was overrated and was going to struggle and you said it was the Strength of the team.....excuse me if I don't trust a word out of your mouth.

lem will play time of possession game and try to keep ball away from Lane

Have to be able to run the ball to do this.

Will also spy the hell out of Leavitt and make him throw it.

Using a spy means one less man in coverage or one less man rushing the passer. Lane and Charlie want this. Makes the math easier for them.

Clemson has a few good WRS. A stud LB and a stud CB. Their interior DL is thin and with our reworked running game we should push them around.
