Last 2 weeks defense performing significantly better missing your 2 all American corners. He’s putting some nice film together for future jobs.

This SHOULD be what everyone talks about. This D is shining without our NFL DB’s. Helluva job he’s done.

Its obvious he told O to kiss his arse and his running the style of D he wants to run. Smart man use this time as an opportunity to audition for your next job, unlike the the dumbass Peetz.

I wouldn’t mind if new coach asked him to stick around. He’s done pretty dam good these last few games.

Also Maason Smith and Ali Gaye being out really hurts. Would have loved to see all of these guys healthy on this defense right now

I think he realized our linebackers are better rushing on blitzes than having responsibilities dropping in coverage. Sometime you just gotta let the player pin their ears back and have less responsibility

Damone Clark went from one of the worst players, at times last year, to one of the best players on the field this year. Kudos to Jones.

I agree. I haven't seen a player improve like that at any level. That kid did a total 180.

I agree, just shows you how bad coaching was last year. He was completely lost.

People forget he looked really good under Aranda in 19 as a back up.

All they remember is 2020 when every player coached by Pelini sucked.

Jones is a newbie, and O’s proven he can’t manage a DC or a D full of studs himself.

Even with our DB’s, these guys should have been cut loose from the get-go. Let the athletes shine - and leaders on the team pull ‘em together.

“Without our NFL DB’s”. Assuming you mean Ricks as one of those. Just dropping in to say Elias Ricks will never be a multi year NFL starter. Entitled. Soft. Will transfer after this year. Has played what, 9 total games? Talent for the NFL, yes, work ethic to stay in the nfl, no. Flott who has played through injury and gotten better every game will be the better player long term. A true grown man for playing through the season despite how bad it has been.

Wasn't it one of the assistants who came up with the brilliant idea to blitz (imagine that), and suddenly we have an effective defense? I'm not ready to give Daronte the credit for something he should have figured out on his own, and didn't, unless someone can convince me that story is incorrect. It's frustrating to think of how many games we've given away because our coaches are so slow to recognize what adjustments need to be made.

New coach should strongly consider keeping many if not most of the D staff...
