I liked him. He was an average but not great QB for us but he did give it everything he had.

Nope!

- Chark dropped a ball to begin the drive
quote:This always bothered me. First, it was the wrong call. Dural was moving forward when he went out of bounds. Second, the letting the clock run without getting a play in was maddening. Same thing that happened at Ole Miss in 2009.
- Dural caught a pass on 1st down but failed to get out of bounds, they let a full 20 seconds run off the clock before running the next play
quote:Also missed Malachi wide open twice.
- they complete a 3rd and 1 pass to Durpre, 1st down, 54 seconds left, 33 seconds left before they ran the next play
quote:Burned one for no reason earlier in the drive.
- 1 TO left on both plays
Just unbelievably bad

Watched it again, you're right. I guess they were saying his forward progress had already been stopped but they blew that whistle pretty fast. Dural escaped that tackle fast and moved out of bounds.
Regardless, it was the call on the field, you need to have a play in and snapped a lot faster than that.

I asked you a question and i expect you to answer it. The Tyga does not take well to being disrespected.

Average talent at QB, but had grit and balls.

Haha well in that case, go back to bed, mate

Thank goodness we had Danny Etling.

He did his job to hold down the fort

I don't know that we won a single game because of Etling, though we certainly lost a couple (Alabama 2016, 2017).
Definitely two games we were not far off from Bama that get forgotten about.

No he wasn't. Flynn was part of the 2003 class. Sorry but you are completely wrong.
Yes I had forgotten that ... not the 1st time I was completely wrong..

Mauck was a better athlete but Etling was a relief at that point.

He came in and saved our season when we had really poor QB play
Posted on 8/5/25 at 8:56 pm to ShipperJosh
He was very underrated. Sr. Year was the 3rd highest rated passer in school history for a single season up to that point and he also completed the most 40+ yard pass plays in that season up to that point despite only having 1 legitimate SEC WR and an awful Oline.

I think Etling was the best QB of the Miles era, and I’m not forgetting Mett.
I know he also spans Saban but Jamarcus was 1000x better.

Someone pointed out Flynn too. I had forgotten about those two.
