Um...LSU struggled with Auburn which is a bad team. LSU is a bad team because it does not have effective QB play.

I disagree. I think that part of JD’s struggles were due to this being the first SEC road game of his career. Also had some drops that stalled drives. Penalties were a big issue as well, stalling drives.
And also, I wouldn’t be surprised if his knee wasn’t already hurt from last week, and he made it worse last night. His slides are so awkward.
With that said, he does need to improve. That’s obvious. But I doubt you will see a performance worse than that at home against UT

All that typing from the OP doesn’t change the fact that Daniel’s was under center for the come back after being down 17-0. Same for the comeback against FSU and MSU.
Both of these things can be true:
1. Daniel’s is just ok.
2. Nuss ain’t ready.
You people wanna try something new for the sake of trying something. But there’s absolutely nothing you’ve seen from Nuss indicating he’s a better option right now than Daniels. If you say you have then I have to start questioning your agenda. . .

Auburn is a bad football team. We are going to struggle with teams that can score points.
It is what it is. Whoever didn't think this team would struggle was delusional. There's a good reason the consensus in preseason was that 8-4 would be a good season this year, and people who thought that put Fla State as one of the wins.
Daniels is the most ready QB on the roster. Nuss isn't ready, and hasn't looked good when he comes in. Howard is going to redshirt.
I'd like a 300 yd passing game; Auburn's QB had one. I'd like a win more, we got that and they didn't.

Another team LSU beat with Jayden Daniels as starter

Thats telling we can still win with those atrocious numbers
Yes. Jordon Jefferson made it all the way to a Natty with those numbers
Except he had a fantastic OL and LSU’s defense was all world.

I agree to an extent. The difference is we may have seen Daniels' ceiling. We haven't seen Nuss'. Nuss will most certainly produce more negative plays, but will push the ball down the field and get WRs more involved. The question is will the more dynamic passer's play negate the risk and possible negative plays? At this point we don't know because it's been determined we are going to play it safe.

How many games has Nussmeier been allowed to start?
Exactly. The playbook is entirely designed around Daniels. I’d like to see how Nuss executes a game plan designed for a pocket passer.

Meh, I kinda disagree. I think it's more accurate to say he's done well enough "not to lose most games" so far this year.
It's VERY telling that he's starting for his 4th straight season (albeit his 1st year at LSU) and he was outplayed by Auburn's 3rd string QB starting his 2nd game in college.
That is more telling of how bad our starter is. The coaches have him starting and us fans have no choice but to deal with it. However, JD hasn't shown any improvement from the FSU game.

My take is: haven't we all accepted this is a rebuild season? If we've accepted this then why are we wasting snaps on Daniels, who's had plenty of chances to improve, over Nuss who hasn't had a single start?
Why not let Nuss get his lumps in on a throwaway season ? Why are we playing like we're protecting a perfect season? This isn't 2011. We're not going to win anything with this playstyle and we're not getting a new scheme mid-season. So I don't see how Nuss isn't clearly an option because it's the only shakeup we can make.
At the least start Nuss for the first few series of the next game and see how it goes. If nothing happens put Daniels in again. I'm not seeing why they're willing to accept the stagnant passing game.

Auburn did a great job maintaining discipline on the rush and pressured him often.
THIS IS A LIE. He had little to no pressure. He often sat back for 5-6 seconds and didn’t do anything.
Auburn JOHNNY MANZIEL’d his arse.

He has no arm. Look for several shutouts or close shutouts with the SEC schedule.

I don't disagree. I wouldn't be totally surprised if BK doesn't see it too and he knows a bad loss is looming out there and that will give him catalyst to make the switch. As long as we win, switching QBs looks insane. That being said, Saban did it in the NC with Hurts.

It is not. It is an indictment of the QB situation at LSU. Daniels cannot play the position. He should be a RB or WR, maybe a DB, but he is out of his element.

Comforting thoughts. Thank you for that...

Don’t worry this will happen if/when goals are out of reach. Right now we are still technically a contender on the west.

Daniels is here to take lumps so Nuss can develop

Unless Daniels is hurt this is crazy.
Take reps away from your starter going into the biggest game of the season in order to give reps to a guy you clearly think is inferior.

Even with Nuss, the receivers weren’t catching balls they should’ve. And one pass was caught 2 inches out of bounds, if I remember correctly.

Why is Nuss getting judged on a handful of throws to the exact degree Daniels is being judged after 30+ starts?
Because Nus isn’t getting 30+ starts this year and we are arguing now and not potential.
