We may never see them in an LSU uniform again.

And the young and inexperienced players will miss this year, then need next year to gain experience. After that we really only get one good year of the very good players that only need to be out of high school for 3 years.

I’m curious to see if the NCAA grants waiver for some of these sports.

At least the summer leagues will stop complaining about not having any pitching.

The crazy thing is with the messed up scholly limits in baseball, granting waivers/extra eligibility could end up hurting us in the long run

It just says no NCAA championships... presumably, they could return after April 1 and play an SEC slate and tournament

Not to mention you still have to be enrolled in school to play. Something most Srs will not have prepared for

But also, where are draft prospects supposed to be seen?

The draft will have to be pushed back.

Everyone will be screwed by the scholarship thing. And there will be less info on draftable players meaning more college guys drafted (due to track record), meaning more HS guys getting to campus, which could mean a talent boon in a couple years.

But rosters are going to be fricked.

This could be a good excuse to test out a new system that allows more than 11.7

Still sucks for everyone involved

Surely this year won’t count towards eligibility given the circumstances.

I realize guys will still be able to go pro, but it won’t count right? They have to make an exception here.

Have you seen any rationale thinking in the last 48 hours? The NCAA seems incapable of making any common sense decisions. If somehow, allowing another year of eligibility will line their pockets, then maybe it will happen. Otherwise, don’t count on it.

Entire freshmen classes are coming in next year. This is going to be an epic mess and will skew rosters a ton in 2021.

Good luck to the ones trying to rank the pre season top 25

It effectively has been canceled. They aren't going to just start games back up with no postseason. They're going to start moving on to next year.

Not according to the statement released by the NCAA.
