This is what we should have ran last year with Jacoby as the 5th DB playing all over the field.

Terrible take! That is exactly what Stevens is unsuited for, If you are going to run that, he would have to be a safety or a LB. The nickle DB has to be quick-quick!

Flott was rough in 2020. McGlothrin looked legit In the spring game.

You guys who have drunk the McGlothern kool aid are going to be very disappointed. Unless he was hobbled last year, the guy is too slow to play corner for LSU except in the red zone. Last year I saw WRs run drag routes against him and completely separate on sheer speed - no moves at all.

He looked good in the Spring Game because no one is game planning against his weakness, and he is a very fine defensive back if you ignore his apparent speed defecit.

True. Freshmen never have to adjust to the speed of CFB. They are either ready or shite. (Sarcasm)

I wouldn't count out Jay Ward or Sage Ryan working the slot.

Think jay ward will be the fs.
Sage should be able to beat out flott.

Mcglothern is an outside corner.

I don't know where you are getting that from
He has more than enough speed.

Just because he got beat on a drag route doesn't mean he doesn't have enough speed.
McGlothern has every tool you look for in a man corner.

You nearly have to have 5 DBs* to defend modern offenses.

*or a drop linebacker.

We might be able to run the 4-2-5 against most teams but teams like bama and Florida with good offensive lines will run on us hard and force us back into a 4-3.

First of all when's the last time Florida had a good Oline with a really good running game? We might play a 4-3 against Florida because Emery Jones is a way better runner than passer

Bama spreads the field too much to run a 4-3 unless Mike Jones Jr. is really good at coverage. You are going to see more 3 safety looks like we ran in 2019 against teams like Bama

I would have guessed a 3-3 vs a 4-2.

DL is our deepest and best position on the field and you want to take one of them off to replace him with a LB?

Evans isn’t starting over Roy. Roy is the best DL on the team.
