Nuss needs to cut down on the int's. If he does. We should be really good.

He also said Trevor Lawrence was better than burrow before the national championship game.

To say someone was “Trash” at football is wild when they started multiple NFL games

Guess we find out in Game 1 ...

Pretty sure Orlovsky was also in early on JD5.

Overall he had 13 TDs/8 INTs. Somewhere around 300 ypg.
I think the reason to anticipate a bigger jump for Nuss this season vs Klubnik is this is Nuss' 2nd season as a starter and Cade's 3rd. Year 1 to 2 should yield the most improvement. Cade's 1st season as a starter he finished with 19 TDs vs 9 INTs and a 126.3 rating. Nuss' 1st season was 29-12 and a 142.7 rating.
Both should do very well and will likely be in conversations for the top QB in 26' all season just like they have been in the offseason.
Other reasons to expect a big jump:
1. 2nd season for Sloan and Nuss together
2. Hilton healthy and Brown add 2 deep threats not present most of last season
3. Starting season with a true RB1 in Durham, now in his 2nd season
4. Nuss finished the season with 8 TDs/1 INT. Feels a bit like Burrow's 10/1 TD/INT finish after starting 6/4 (does not mean expect a Burrow like 2nd season because that was unreal)

He also said that TJ Finley was the future of LSU when we beat USCe in 2020

Vegas has Nuss with 2nd best odds to win Heismann behind Manning. I’d say Vegas is a pretty reliable source

A good bit of the struggles by Nuss happened when our interior OL was injured. So, we had a TF Center that needed help in the middle, and then when the LG was injured it made us weak up the middle and A&M and Bama exposed that with pressure up the middle. Then, the RG went down so we had all three in the middle that were inexperienced.......against Florida...which resulted in a ton of sacks, etc.
We also had zero run game, so teams knew what they had to do to beat us. It should be different this year, and if so, Nuss will thrive.

Nuss is a top tier college qb. No doubt
The challenge this year will be protection. He has some young linemen.

Dan was the first person in media that was really high on JD5.

You nailed it.
JD 5 would have run out of trouble, but Nuss does not have that kind of escapability.

Orlovsky also had Trevor Lawrence rated higher than Burrow heading into that draft. Just sayin.

That’s cool and all but Nuss’s stats doesn’t make Klubnik any better of a QB against good competition. Yea he’s good but he’s not this Heisman lock type QB a lot of yall are making him out to be. I watched him twice last year and he was horrible in one of them and average in the other.
Posted on 7/18/25 at 4:21 pm to NorthshoreTiger76
If you like his takes you must have forgotten that in 19’ all the way to the bitter end despite anything Burrow did on the field he kept saying Trevor Lawrence was the best college QB. It was pure stupidity at its finest.

I never said he was a Heisman lock. I was responding to a guy that said he was bad.

You must know a lot about him then
