I guess you haven't been watching the same evolution of football that the rest of us have.

Hits like that used to be highlights. Now they're grounds for suspension and a liability to their teams.

If that was $1000 it was a CHEAP tattoo

I don't think the colleges should pay players, the scholarship, meal plan, lodging, training, tutoring, books, etc. etc. is the exchange you get for playing for a college team. They get a WAY better deal than if they would have to play for a minor league team before going into the NFL. I do think college players should be able to get paid for their likeness, sponsorship's, working a clinic/camp (hell, low level coaches make their money doing this) or whatever other value they can bring to a business. Making it impossible for an NFL prospect to make money for 3 years before he can play in the NFL is oppression.

Players are already getting paid. Universities, local businesses, massive corporations make insane amounts of money and these guys can’t sell a jersey because of the NCAA? That’s dumb.

A college student studying accounting is allowed to be on scholarship and let his friends pay him to do their taxes, why not let athletes sell their shite to morons who want to pay a ton to frame a jersey?

It seems like he’s been on the team for a decade. Hope he gets to destroy a few more people this year. The hit he delivered on Brian Robinson Jr at Alabama was nasty

Anyone have that video

It's a tattoo, not a Ferrari.

Not that I agree with this sentiment, mostly because that was likely free, but that is a very expensive tattoo for a normal person. And using the logic that it doesn't cost as much as a sports car is the same logic poor people use when they buy a $3 coffee and say "it's just a coffee."

No. The argument was initially that. It’s since evolved into more ‘equality’ arguments since that’s the newest buzz-word to use to get what you want, but players being too broke to eat was absolutely one of the initial arguments for it.

The argument is and always has been that college players make millions of dollars for their school yet receive hardly any tangible compensation for their time. The amount of money Joe Burrow made the school is probably in the 9 digit range when factors like marketing and advertising are factored in. For that he was given the opportunity to take classes for free and a meal plan. Not exactly an even trade.

So, elaborate, why is a player flexing a probably $1000 tattoo “moronic” for using it to ironically suggest that clearly players need half the revenue (per the PAC-12 player demands)?

I don't agree that they need half the revenues but to make the assumption that all players have money ( or aren't broke ) because 1 got an elaborate tattoo is one of the dumber things I've read on this site.

Guarantee that cost between $1K and $2K. So no, a regular college student cannot afford that.

I heard about it and thought it would be lame. I was wrong, that's pretty sick.
