Last year, Jay put Dylan Crews at leadoff right before the SEC Tourney and he stayed there until game 3 against Florida. Those 17 games were the only ones Crews hit lead off.

Seems logical to flip Milam and Pearson in the lineup. But, he may want to avoid 3 LHH in a row with Pearson, Brown, Larson, who i think Jay will stick with.

Something to keep an eye on- Bingham had a clutch RBI smash today. If Larson keeps struggling, Jay may test if that hit ignites Bingham. Just a thought.

This is becoming a bit concerning to me. Is it the freshman wall or have teams figured something out on him. Really hope he finds it going into next weekend.

Probably keeps the exact same lineup but insert whatever CF you want into the 7 hole.

Maybe flip the centerfielder down to 8 or 9.

It’s not like he’s having bad at bats. He will be fine.

Agreed. He hit one right on the screws today, but unfortunately it went out to straightaway CF where the defense was playing deep. He times that a split second earlier and it would have been in the RC gap for at least a double.

He also had the bad luck of getting rung up on a couple of bad calls on the weekend.

Both were full counts too.

I think I’d move Milam up to 2nd. We have to put more pressure on at the top of the order and have opportunities for Tommy/Bear to swing for crooked numbers

I like Brown staying in at the bottom with his speed. Gives him valuable experience for the future too and if he folds then maybe Jay needs to go get a premier CF this off-season in the portal

You make decent points, but then say this.

I would love to hear an explanation of why people think the transfer portal is like an all you can eat buffet.

Larson has been making contact, they just haven’t been falling. Jones has been striking out since the Ole Miss series like he gets rewarded for it, but since he hits 4 homers in Hoover yall gloss over it. You absolutely let Larson work through this bc he will be instrumental next year and Bingham won’t be drafted for the 2nd year in a row. Milam was allowed to struggle during the middle of the season. Give Larson a chance. When you watch him bat he is one of our most natural hitters. He is a true freshman. He is allowed time to figure it out.

I’m not down on Larson, just thinking what Jay may think.

He may just roll with the exact same lineup

If I had to set a lineup for the regional I think it would be

Braswell
Milam
White
Jones
Travinski
Pearson
Larson
Brown
Milazzo

I didn’t considers the L-L-L at the end there. Maybe swap Pearson and Travinski idk

2. Tanks
3. Pearson
4. Bear
5. Travinski
6. Milam
7. Brown
8. Larson
9. Milazzo

CF is the most interesting decision, IMO.

I don’t think CF is much of a discussion at all. I think Brown hit well enough in Hoover to stay at CF. And I have been a Klinger all season.
