You mean a thrown shoe and 60 yard FG ultimately led us to victory in 1 of his starts

It's not like Max showed something extra on that final UF drive outside his nice scamper on 1 play. This is literally how that drive went:

Start on our 25:
1st down - incomplete pass
2nd down - max rush for no gain
3rd/10 - dumps it off to Taylor for 4 yard gain, 15 yard shoe penalty
1st/10 on LSU44 - Max rush for 9 yards
2nd/1 on UF 47 - Curry rush 7 yards
1st/10 on UF 40 - Curry for loss of 2
2nd/12 on UF 42, Curry rush for 4 yards
3rd/8 on UF 38, Max pass complete loss of 1 yard
4th/9 - epic nearly 60 yard FG in fog

Just so we're remembering things right, the only positive thing Max did that entire drive was the run for 9 yards.

Brennan played like arse against Miss State. Offense stalled out way too many times. Stop looking and numbers and watch the tape

Max played like arse in each of his first 3 games. I watched every game last season, as I have for the last 20 seasons.

Young QBs making their first starts will have struggles, that's just the nature of the beast. It's been the same case with just about every college QB I've ever seen. Joe Burrow included

So is this his opinion or rumors. If it's his opinion, who gives a shite?

This.

Our fanbase is so shell-shocked that we find it unfathomable a 1st or 2nd year QB can have great success.

Jameis Winston was a 1st year starter and RS-Freshman when he led FSU to the national championship.

Deshaun Watson was a Soph when he led Clemson to the NC game. Jake Fromm and Jalen Hurts led their teams to NC games as true freshmen. Trevor Lawrence won a NC as a true freshman. Johnny Manziel won the Heisman as a True Freshman.

While not a 100% success rate, it is possible to have a young QB lead a championship team.

It’s not even close. Max has versatility run and throw.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t Max boom or bust with his legs. I’m pretty sure he was sacked the most in the Spring game. He seems to create some of the pressure that he gets credit for but (usually) avoids.

Scrambled first downs help, but 8 yard losses kill drives.

I just watched tOSU's spring scrimmage, who have a QB room of 3 freshman (2 RS, 1 true) competing for the starting job. Zero college passes completed between them all.

All 3 showed star quality and looked better than Brennan, who's had 5 years to show he might one day be a competent QB, but never a star/difference-maker.

A good QB performance does not lose that game. No way to twist that

Brennan was 29/48 430 and 4 TDS.

We scored 41 points. M
That’s a good offensive performance.

Compare that to Max ca Florida

Worse Completion %. Less yards, less Yards per attempts. Less TDS.

We punted more (8 times vs Florida vs 5 vs Missouri) we kicked the same number of FGs. We had less drives end in TDs Vs Florida.

Sorry but Myles wasn’t why we lost to Missouri.

It's silly to say that it's not close but it's pretty clear that Max is currently leading.

And seniority is a double-edged blade. You would expect to see more poise and leadership from the older guy but when it's neck and neck between a 5th year guy and a 2nd year guy it makes sense to go with the guy with more room to grow.

Did you miss the Missouri game? The guy fought through a torn ab injury to throw for 430 yards, 4 TD. Again, this was the highest graded game from a QB on PFF last year in any of our games.

Dude had a really great day that day, unfortunate that was his last in last season...for some reason, because the defense gave up 600 yards and 45 points, some are holding that against Brennan.

The double standard is real here for some. Some sit back and give Max a pat on the back and credit for going 2 for 3 for 3 yards passing with 2 rushes for 9 yards on the final drive of the UF game where we hit a 57 yard FG then UF missed a FG later and we won. Yet Brennan gets shite on for the end of the Missouri game for driving 74 yards, almost entirely him passing, but hey because TDP couldnt punch it in twice from 1 yard line and Missouri defended 2 pass plays well, brennan sucks

He wasn’t the main reason. Obviously the defense played like trash. Myles couldn’t make a play at the end from a few feet out to win the game so that’s what everyone remembers.

Yea that looks fine until you watch the game & see what actually happened

Scored on short fields

Couldn’t convert on short fields, stalled drives, settling for FG

Couldn’t convert 3rd downs

Do you care about stalled drives or converting on 3rd down?

Because We stalled more vs Florida and scored less.

But that’s the game people use to crown Max.

He completed less passes. Scored less TDS. We punted more. Kicked the same number of FGs.

The biggest difference?

Defense didn’t give up 44 points.

It is sad that Finley was never given a chance.

In a program that truly wanted Finley, he would be competing for the starting position.

I like Finley. I think He could develop into a good QB. I thjnk We fed him to the wolves a bit. But he’s definitely behind Max and Brennan at this point.

430 yards and 4 TD actually happened, with a torn ab for most of it

Scored on short fields

We also had 2 75 yard TD drives, a 74 yard drive, a 47 yard TD drive, a 42 yard FG drive, a 34 yard missed FG drive and a 30 yard drive we punted. So that's 7 drives of at least 30 yards. I.E. we were most definitely moving the ball that day and didnt "need" short fields to score.

Couldn’t convert 3rd downs

Yet still scored 42 points, most of the 3rd downs were 3rd and longs as well. One of the 3rd downs was 3rd/13 we didnt convert, then converted on the 4th and 5 following that. I've broken all this down before.
