Was at game they looked good. Also noticed the coaches still coaching hard with only a few minutes left enjoyed seeing that.

Liked what I saw. Obviously weak competition. Team will go as far as Thomas can take them. First legit PG since Pinson.

He spoke at a meeting I was at. He said they finally got to spend millions on this team and get a bunch of size and some decent shooters. He said the Big East will be the most competitive since they do not have football and can spend 10’s of millions more on players. He also mentioned that freshman will be less looked at coming out of high school and most money will go to transfers. He has a player that’s been in college for 6-7 years and still qualifying to play ball. Can’t remember which guy it is on the team. Mix of Covid and injuries IIRC.

They were 25-10 and got to the semifinals of the CIT tournament. They must not have won the WAC tourney

LSU got whipped on the offensive boards . They allowed 12
And LSU had about 32 defensive rebounds.

SMU beat Tarleton by 20 points, but Tarleton kept it close most of the game.

So we beat a team that was 12-20 last year? Yes I did confirm that.
Now I'm starting to worry about next game vs UNO. That team has something going on-- they beat TCU on the road!

You’re wasting your time. McMahon just doesn’t have it. Woodward’s long gone but his failed coaching hirings are still tormenting us.

Nope not falling for it. We'll see what happens when conference play starts.

You forgot to add the bad . LSU got whipped on the offensive boards . They allowed 12 . LSU also turned the ball over 15 times . We shall see but I wasn’t impressed . Let’s see how they do against real competition

He beat my expectations... which were: I wasn't totally sure we'd even be able to field a team.

Hard to get many offensive rebounds when you shoot fricking 70% from the field, genius.

sure but you also shouldn't let them get that many offensive rebounds

The Mcmen don’t live in the real world.
We have seen this before a McNuggets team feast on weak ooc and then finish in the basement of the sec. The good news is it was never Matt’s fault he is a nice guy so we should let him have excuses.

Yep, looked exactly like a Matt McMahon team to me….careless with the ball, sloppy offensive sets with a lot of my “athletes beat your athletes”mentality….will get blown out against SEC teams

He's got the best point guard he's had since he's been here and that is going to be significant for him.
I really liked some things I saw, McKinnon appears to be better than I expected, and Sutton has hops and athleticism.
I'm still not sold we'll have the physicality needed, Tarlenton was pretty small - but I'm cautiously optimistic.
Now, we've seen this before - last year lots of posts about how smoothly the offense was flowing - lots of movement without the ball and with the ball, etc. etc. and then when we started facing team that got physical and had us scouted and pushed us off our spots we really did not have any answers.
I think Thomas will help with some of that......we'll see. But I'm cautiously and very cautiously, optimistic.

Their leading scorer vs. SMU who scored 23 points didn't play last night and their best post player only played 8 minutes. Not to discredit LSU because it's hard to shoot 70% against any competition.

C'mon bro. These posts were here the last two years when the season started. Can we wait until Jan/Feb before judging this team? Setting yourself up for failure with false hope.
