quote:Yes, and both teams only got 3 hits.
Didn’t both teams have the same weather.
ETA: I see EK got 4 hits, not 3. My bad. And they got 1 earned run. The error by Mathis gave them an unearned run.

No one will ever say you support any LSU coach or player.

If this team is that fair weather then the season is fricked anyway

Who would have thought that Ed Orgeron and his staff would be BY FAR the best in-game coaching staff of the big three sports at LSU.

O'S got them beat by miles, no pun intended.

Or just string together a few singles. The offensive ineptitude is astonishing!!!

Pitching was terrible
The staff gave up like 3 or 4 hits. I’d be willing to go out on a limb and say the pitching was more than adequate overall.

He’s the worst offensive baseball coach I’ve ever seen.

One thing I noticed last night and I pointed it out in the game thread was the primary reason they kept throwing to first base so much. Doing this kept the LSU batter at the plate standing out there in the cold, windy weather between pitches to the plate. I think this affected the mindset of the batters to the degree that getting the hell back to the warm dugout wasn't such a bad option as opposed to fighting off pitch after pitch. They gave a half-arse effort at the plate all night long. Using the cold and the wind to your advantage as the Eastern Kentucky coaching staff did last night was a brilliant tactic. We all see what the end results were.

I agree. If you can’t score many runs today and tomorrow, then you recruited the wrong players. Or , you’re not doing your job teaching these kids the fundamentals.

I didn’t see the game but reading this I find it extremely hard to believe that EKU was rolling out sub 70s arms so I did some research. The pitcher who got the win, Davenport, threw 90 in high school, as expected. Not sure why PM felt the need to bag on arms that shut his shite down.

So his excuse was that we couldn’t handle LLWS type of pitching.

Been to Omaha 4 times. Saw 3 NC. Enjoyed the hell out of it. Sadly baseball has become too slow and boring to watch. Like pulling teeth.

There’s no evidence to think we win this series.

That statement makes me more pissed at him than the loss.
