Could we be sleeping on Rickie Collins as next year’s backup?

Swann has SEC experience but Collins could make a nice step from his first year to his 2nd. He’s got a big arm and he also can use his legs. I wouldn’t automatically put Swann as the #2 guy right now.

I trust Kelly will have a competition and play the best.

He's third string, therefore the rant has decided he will never play a meaningful snap at LSU.

Swann on the other hand will be the best QB we have on the roster according to the rant.

That's the way this works.

Based on tRant’s track record with QBs, Collins is the best in a generation.

Honestly in a years time I think Hurley will be the best of all of them but he needs time to acclimate and get stronger. Then hopefully you have Underwood coming who could start as a true freshman or if not definitely in year 2. QB has changed so much for LSU in the last 5-7 years.

If Collins is patient he could be very useful by his Sophomore or Junior season. He can run and Sloan is working on his passing. I wouldn't write Collins off.

Collins is 6’2” 215 with wheels and a big arm. Sloan can do something with him.

Collins was very smooth in high school. I will be very much in the thick of it after Nuss.

How many Rant posters predicted Burrow and Daniels would both win the Heisman?

And Collins was verbally committed to Purdue, before switching to LSU. Surely he's got some talent.

Swann will be QB2 and is a damn good backup for anybody to have. If anything happens to Nuss he’ll be able to come in and win games with the talent he’ll have around him.

Didn’t think he was that heavy. That’s a bunch of weight gain since HS

I think it might be year 3 before he is ready just because he is so young. But he has huge upside.

I’d think if Collins was any kind of threat they wouldn’t have brought in Swann.

With portal I’m not sure lsu will ever have to lean on a fr or redshirt fr qb again
The key will be keeping those young qb’s on the roster to continue to develop like nuss
Easier said than done as Howard bolted after one year to ole miss
Underwood may be able to break that trend

I mean, you could try it. I don't see how you're going to keep your balance, be uncomfortable as hell, and Rickie might have something to say about it- it's going to be kind of uncomfortable for him too.
