This is always a dumb argument that develops with every years best team.
College footballs talent was a lot more saturated in the SEC and blue blood football schools.
Since NIL and teh portal, talent is far more LIQUID and dispersed/shifted every time the wind blows.

Did you watch the 2019 LSU team? They weren't playing 3 loss teams in the playoffs, or having a team hand them three free touchdowns. They just bulldozed right over teams with no help, and they did it all season.
They also did it in an era when teams weren't watered down by the portal. Indiana is taking advantage of pure mediocrity. Good for them.

Do people forget how crazy that schedule actually was? They ended up beating freshman Bo Nix, Tua, Jalen Hurts, T Law, and I might be forgetting some other decent QBs. Clemson and Alabama were both serious National Championship contenders that year and were on par if not slightly better than this Indiana team.

LSU 2019 was loaded on both sides of the ball. Teams are built like that anymore. Yes Indiana is great and having an incredible season but they are playing teams that aren't as deep or as talented as the teams in 2019.
