This situation we’re in right now regarding granting a 5th year of eligibility after many of these athletes had already made pro intention is just a single year issue……right? Going forward everyone will be aware of the 5th year and will have to make decisions accordingly.

Yes and it’s the NCAAs fault. They thought their bill wouldn’t get stalled where it did which opened up this whole can of worms. But it’s basically just for this year with the 2022 class

Everyone making a big issue about nothing. Just correcting a NCAA screw up. One year deal. Because LSU is involved it’s like the end of the world. If other schools were involved it probably wouldn’t even be mentioned,

This could all be a non issue if the NCAA just admitted their mistake and acknowledged that yes this will be an anomaly this year.

Instead they dug their heels in and now it’s a bigger deal than it really is.

The RJ Luis ruling concerns me. I think that sets a pretty bad precedent moving forward.

Combining this statement with the sentiment of the OP, you make a good point. From the position that he made a decision to go pro when he still had 1 year of eligibility remaining. Seems to me RJ waived his remaining college eligibility to pursue the NBA. Whereas Dae’Quan Wright and the like did not.

Love it for LSU, don’t like it for the future of college athletics. I’d be happy if I’m missing an important puzzle piece to the RJ Luis case.
