Webster is a G. I love how the coaches enable former players to come be around the program and spread their personal knowledge. Great thing to watch as a fan, even better as an 18 year old freshman hearing it from a guy who started DBU

Man, how impressive was that. Webster looks fit as when he played here, and his advice was nails. What a great ambassador.

Favorite DB to ever come out of DBU. He kinda gets forgotten about imo with how many great DBs we’ve had come through over the years, but this guy was the OG. His pick against UGA in Death Valley where he tipped it back to himself is one of my all time favorite plays.

"He’s also an incredible basketball player"
I always thought that he was a better basketball player than football. Story was he was supposed to play basketball also at LSU along with Marcus Randall since the basketball team was on probation with limited scholarships. He was also the MVP for the Class AAA championship tournament and voted the NFL player that could play in the NBA along with Terrell Owens.

I wonder if he, Clayton and Spears ever got an intramural basketball team together. You had 3 guys that were definitely good enough to get playing time on our basketball team.

LSU / DiNardo was not recruiting him
what an idiot.
let's not recruit the kid who's led his basketball and football teams to state titles and player of the year awards.

Corey Webster would be a great mentor for Denver Harris.

Didn't go in there high-cappin. Just delivered the message straight. Can't help but respect it, because he paid his dues and excelled at the highest level.
agreed......and his comment on integrity, doing some stuff on their own on the side even when coach isn't watching, thats the stuff that makes great players, great leaders!

one of my favorite tigers. That tip to himself INT to seal the UGA game in 03 is one of my favorite all time plays.

I always share this story about meeting Corey Webster.
It was after he Western Illinois game in 2003. Friends and I were walking by the old Tennis Complex(Beach Volleyball now) a couple hours after the game. We saw a guy and his girlfriend stuck in his truck as a rear tire had gone over a curb and was just spinning with no traction.
The three of us had just stepped in to help lift the back of the truck over the curb when three guys in LSU football t-shirts offered to help.
The 6 of us easily got the couple out of a jam and on the road.
The guys in the football t-shirts introduced themselves. 1st guy was a backup but the other two:
Marcus Randall and Corey Webster. It was funny b/c Webster introduced himself last and told us his name as we laughed and said, "We know who YOU are! Good game tonight. Y'all Kick Georgia's butt next week."
Very humble and good young men off the field.

They did. I was in grad school, we had a team, and we played them….although I think Spears was missing. We lost something like 130 to 105. They played zero D and Webster routinely pulled up from Steph Curry range and drained 3 after 3. That team barely tried and obliterated us.
