It was a fun game to watch, at times. To me it was a shame the terrible officiating marred the efforts of both teams. The refs must have had a layover in Colorado on the flight in.

Out of curiosity, where specifically do you think Iowa stands?

I'm a Tiger fan from Iowa and it is refreshing to see a post like this from a Hawk fan.

95% of Hawk fans don't understand that they got completely dominated all game. The pick and kick return got them points. They believe the officiating and Freaks injury cost them the game. Just brutal.

Also the booing of Lamin was classless.

You guys hung in there like champs. I really thought it was going to be a rout after the first couple of series, but Iowa play tuff.

For LSU it was weird, our offense was a well-oiled machine all year until we lost our QB. The defense struggled all year but started to jell at the end of the season.

What Iowa watched on film was not the team they faced today. We couldn't pass and the Defense was amazing.

Great game, just wish the QBs could have done better.

Thanks. Your defense is top notch. I thought we'd have the game put away much sooner than the 4th but Iowa kept fighting. Your coaching is weak though. I've never understood the hype around Ferentz.

So question for you. What did you think of LSU's coaching in this game? As an impartial observer. Be interesting to hear.

Good game. I'll be in Ft Collins next week

Wonderful college town, lived here for 5 years now and have enjoyed each year even more. As of today the perks of being a Colorado resident is paying off.

I really enjoyed watching LSU play today and was totally rooting for them. So much talent on the field at RB/WR! That one-handed catch by ODB was amazing & that was Hill's A-game on display.

While I think 2014 will be a rebuilding year, they have a lot of young talent in house for the next few seasons to be in the top half of the SEC west

Well I didn't watch LSU with Mett, so I can't compare to how you've looked all year. Offensively I think Miles in the first half didn't really know how Jennings was going to play, that kinda resulted in LSU being one dimensional. Luckily you've got a horse for a RB, which I thought our LBers would do much better against, but the passing game should be Jennings focus this off season.

Other things I noticed was whom ever calls the offensive plays didn't really have a method, at one point all runs, then up by 14 instead of running it down our throat you all go on a passing spree and end up throwing a pick. Also communication at the end of the game could have been handled better.

Does LSU usually try to run trick plays BTW? Didn't expect that.

Question for the Iowa fans. What is the general opinion on KF? Not knocking the guy but based on success he has the be the most overpaid coach in college athletics. Thoughts?

This baffled me at the time, too. I felt we needed to stretch the field some to keep you guys loosened up on our run game, but I didn't get the series of passing plays there. One mistake and it was a game again.

They really kept ya'll in the game. Solid, solid players and had more speed than I expected.

It is what it is, I'm not going to get into the never ending topic. I'm just glad we are not Purdue, Illinois, NW, or Indiana. Just wish recruiting was better.

I had a feeling YOU would come back and say this... You are a class act while your team lost... Iowa played better than I thought....

Opinions are mixed. He's a class individual. Parents who are involved and want their kid to be under a fine coach like Ferentz. He gets the most from average players. That said his program has run in cycles. 3 up years, 3 down years. We think this is the beginning of Ferentz 3.0. Iowa never seems to get those great WRs.

I'm not a big hater of the guy. Others will give a different point of view. One thing that drives me nuts is that he does not seem to insist on having good offenses. Iowa's D is usually pretty good, but they just don't ever seem to have a potent offense. Last one was 2002. 2 cents.

He replaced his staff after 2011. The new staff seems to be recruiting better.

I asked because I have a friend that talks about this all the time. I guess KF hasn't been able to recreate the Hayden Fry magic. I have always followed the hawkeyes from afar, my Mom was from Muscatine,Iowa.
