re: Choosing Ja'Marr Chase over DeVonta Smith should be a crime - droliver
Both were very, very good college players, with Smith arguably having a GOAT college WR season in the books. Chase is just a little more traditional body type for projecting comps in the NFL. I think Chase is the safer pick here to avoid a bust, but Smith has more of a chance to be a transcenden...

re: why do NFL teams fall in love with guys like Mac Jones? - droliver
Mac might be slightly less athletic then the other 1st rd QB prospects (but still good enough athlete to be a USTA 4.5-5.0 level tennis junior ranked player apparently, which is good enough to be a low level D1 player ), but he is elite at skills that predict success at the NFL level : reading defen...

Interesting. How would be an upgrade at QB for probably 80% of power 5 teams. There would be a lot of interest in him as a transfer...

re: Sharon Lewis will enjoy watching BR burn to the ground - droliver
I'm not sure I trust USA Today to tell an honest story.
Give it up, man. As reported, this lady has on the record corroboration and paper trails of pretty much every claim she’s made here. This is a pretty devastating story for LSU’s athletic program on the heels of a whole other ...

re: Sharon Lewis will enjoy watching BR burn to the ground - droliver
She sounds like a disgruntled PITA as an employee, but if you read the USA Today article on this, what was happening at LSU was really, really bad from an HR perspective and title IX compliance. They are going to get crushed with an 8 figure settlement and sanctions over Les Miles not tak...

re: Dellenger: NCAA on brink of allowing one-time immediate transfer for all athletes - droliver
This is more likely to cause havoc in basketball or baseball rather then football rosters. A star pitcher or mid-major basketball player would have a lot more suitors then most football players, whom often don’t contribute as much early....

re: As The Red Beans Boil: Formal request for Coach O to testify at April 8 hearing - droliver
LSU could probably fire Coach O “with cause” if he declined to appear before that hearing. Would give LSU an easy out on any buyout of his contract...
UNC DUKE IU UK KU UCLA How many fingers yall rolling with in Bama now?
UCLA and Indiana certainly aren't blue bloods at this point in time. They've both been dumpster fires for 2 decades and don't carry the cache anymore of their great 60's (UCLA) and 70's (IU) runs....

re: If Saban had never coached at LSU, who is more likely to win a title there? - droliver
neither of them win a title without Saban having established the culture of winning prior and the infrastructure required. I don't think Miles, and certainly not Coach O, have the organizational skills to build a middling program to greatness. It's also become clear that neither of those ...
Trussville runs a modified Malzahn HS offense. 60/40 rush vs. pass and some seasons as high as 65/35 rush/pass. re: Is Kentucky still the Alabama of basketball? - droliver
No, Kentucky has been very successful by conventional measures, but over the last 50 years they've "only" won 4 national championships vs 10 for Alabama in football. Over that period of time (1970-2020) they are probably the 3rd or 4th best program behind Duke, UNC, +/- Kansas and right there wi...
t's not that there isn't parity, it's that the gap between #1 and everyone else outside the top 5 has never been larger
This is ignoring the fact that 2020 Alabama had one score games well into the 4th quarter with Ole Miss and Florida and trailed UGA in the 3rd.
