O did a good job with the 2016 team. 2017 is lacking the experience and depth of that team. O deserves the time to rebuild, any anyone who thinks LSU isn't rebuilding is sadly mistaken.

Last year O had the benefit of Les Miles preparing the team and managing the offseason. Anyone could’ve come in last year and given the team a spark. O did no better than Les Miles could have done. ( see Florida 2016)
Les miles managed the program very well during the off season. He had many faults and I was happy he was fired. But Coach lovers need to realize that managing the program in the off season is just as important (if not more) than what we see on game day. O has never proven he can manage a program. He does not deserve anything. He is overpaid for job In which he is grossly under qualified.

So...the 1-3 record this year for a NC coach who lost his starting QB bothers you.
But the resume and track record of Orgeron didn't/doesn't?
SMH.
Special kind of stupid on this board.

This isnt helping. Get use to it. Orgeron is here for at least 2 years. Try to support the team that's here not the ones who left.

Ed O may not be the right guy, but he was handed a dumpster fire.
He wasn't handed anything. He was on Les's staff. As he said in his first press conference as interim, "I am the head coach at LSU until somebody tells me different." So now in what is essentially year 2 as head coach and year 3 being at LSU he was "handed a dumpster fire"? Oops, sorry guys, now it's a dumpster fire. Not last year when he was given the benefit of the doubt stepping in? Nope. Not the year before as an assistant? Nope. LSU only became a dumpster fire after he got his arse kicked by Moo State and Troy. In other words, Ed Orgeron turned it into a dumpster fire and now he has to put the fire out. The intellectual dishonesty of some of you is beyond reproach.

He basically has won 80% of his games, is one of the top 4 winningest coaches and is one of only 4 active coaches that have won an NC.

Christian Ponder
EJ Manuel
Jameis Winston
Jamarcus Russell
All first round draft picks, regardless of how they turned out in the pros. Who else has this success grooming QB's?

You FN idiots that have the obsession with JF really need to get mental help. He is 1-3. PERIOD. If any coach started 1-3 at LSU no matter who we played, there would be rioting in the streets.
He rode 1 good QB to fame and hasn't done shite since (nor did he do shite before).... and in a time when the ACC sucked! He recruits well, but doesn't really develop anyone.
And guess what MORONS... now that Clemson is good, Miami is gonna get better, NC state, etc, he is being exposed for the overrated chump he is....
Except for calling people morons, dumbasses and being a general jerk in your wording I agree with you. Fisher has only had 1 or 2 games every year against good teams and has underachieved most years.
If I was going to get a new coach I would hire Penn St to find them. Their last 2 have done an excellent job. Most schools would be doormats during and for years afterwards.

Are you serious????
Do you think LSU would FIRE a head coach after more than a decade and a national championship if the program wasn't in the dumpster??????????
There was clear downtrend with NO HOPE of it reversing under Miles because of the culture and reputation we had with the QB position. NO CHANCE.
The writing was also on the wall with a severely depleted roster at basically every position except DB and TE. Why else are 22 freshman either starting are playing significant snaps.
THAT SIR, is a dumpster fire.
Now, if ED O cannot do what he does best, recruit and fill those gaps quickly, then he doesn't deserve to be the coach at LSU. Granted, he can't recruit by himself, but he doesn't have the luxury of blaming anyone going forward.

Yes, because that is actually what happened in real life. The only way to claim otherwise is to be intellectually dishonest.

Jimbo Fisher--1 win--3 losses
Since 2011 Jimbo is winning at a 84% clip. You have to be college football challenged not to respect such a record.
Although I was highly doubtful bout the Jimbo/LSU stuff, I would take the man in a heart beat.

Name one P5 school that would even consider hiring our current head coach if he were available.
Just one.
That will tell you how bad it is.
