Yet an 11 seed is still dancing. If you're good enough, seeding doesn't matter.

It would have been better if we were an 11th seed.

Wouldve been nice to find out how lsu wouldve fared against michigan in the elite 8 as opposed to the round of 32.wouldve been nice to get matched up with an 11 and 14 seed before facing a 1 and 2 seed

They didn’t have to play a 1 seed until the elite 8....would have been nice

I think that we should have gotten a 7th seed based on results, NET ratings and KenPom, etc.

But, we ended up in the last 32 which is about how good we were this season. With the right matchup, we could have made the sweet 16. I certainly couldn't argue that we were one of the best 16 teams, however.

Our end result is not too far off how good we were this season, IMO.

If we had Florida's draw (as we should have), there's a 50/50 chance we're in the Final 4. In an absolute literal sense, you are right, however.

What you fail to realize is, that avoiding that 8/9 game gives your bracket a chance to fall apart, then you are playing an Oregon st. that starts 3 females instead of #1 Illinois. This isn't that complicated to understand. I 100% believe you are better off being a 10,11,or even 12 than 8/9.

Michigan won without their best player as well. If he was in the game doubt it would have been close.

Also, back in 1986-87, we were an 11 then a 10 in back to back years. We made the Final 4, and Elite 8 in those years, and I think a big part of it was due to progressively playing harder teams as we went along. The worst circumstance to be placed in is to face #1 in the second round.

That is very possible. That still doesn't change the fact that you want the easiest path possible to make a run in the tournament.

Also nice that Michigan shot less than 40% from the field and less than 30% from 3 compared what they shot against LSU. That’s basketball for you

The fact that UCLA actually played defense against them is reflected in those percentages, although the German kid did miss two 3s there at the end with open looks.

We had a foot on Michigan’s neck and we let them get up. No excuses.

If your goal is to make it to the Final Four then you would be 100% wrong.

8 and 9 seeds have a HIGHER winning % than 10, 11, 12 seeds.

8 seeds have made it to more Final Fours than 6, 7, 9, and 10 seeds. They have made it to only 2 less Final Four's than 5 seeds.

8 seeds have only about a ~20% winning % vs. #1's. That's not good...at all. But they are above .500 against, 4, 5, and 2 seeds.

So yes, while we just saw UCLA pull off a great run to the Final Four, history tells us that beating the #1 seed early give you a better chance of making the Final Four than catching them in the Sweet 16 or Elite 8.

Yes, LSU should not have been an 8. And if they were a 7 who knows what would have happen. But the reality is LSU was NEVER a balanced enough team to reach the Final Four. If you look at the Kenpom top 40 no team has a larger deviation between their offensive and defensive rating (5/125). LSU left it all on the floor vs. Michigan. For roughly 32 minutes they were outstanding offensively. But they lost that game for the same reason they lost many games this season. They were terrible defensively.

Sure. Like the college football playoff it would have been better having to beat Ohio State and then Clemson instead of having an Oklahoma or Notre Dame in the semifinal. Matchups and seed matter!!!!!

6th seeds included USC and Texas Tech. Pretty sure the Rant complained about having to face St Bonaventure. We may not have gotten out of the 1st round as an 11th seed.

No its much better to go further in the tournament. The only way this makes sense is if you plan on winning the national championship every year and anything less is a disappointment.
