JD was a 3-year starter at Arizona State.
do you know any of arizona state's recent history at all?
they just announced that their assistant coaches were giving their opponents the game plan before the game in order to get the head coach fired. the same head coach that you think was doing a great job coaching JD for the past 3 years.

He has had more than 30 games. Do you just not get this?

How many starts had Burrow had by his fifth game at LSU? Your comparison is asinine. Jiminy Cricket...

Beefense wrong as usual. What does hate have to do with this. JD5 cannot play QB. That's all. Tiger Nation is again dismayed that we have NO competent QB play. What is not to understand about that?

Compare Daniels to Quittin Brennan
Quittin Brennan was 1-2 in SEC play and Daniels is 2-0

If that's how Burrow looks after 5 games in a new system in his 4th year, there is no way he is going to improve. Bench him now. Better to start the less talented backup and plan for the future, because backups can always improve, but not QBs that win the starting job. Duh.

These two have got thier Forrest Daniels goggles on real tight.
The better Quarterback comparison to Joe Burrow is Garret Nussmeier but, don't let your ignorance get in the way of reality.
Forrest Daniels is Forrest Daniels is Forrest Daniels.
He is who he is.

We can only explain it to you so many times; we can't understand it for you.
The point of the OP is not to compare JB's ceiling to JD's potential. The point is that both QBs were starting off in a new offense, and you can't always determine how much the new QB will progress in a new system with only 5 games under their belts.
If JB had started his first 5 games with OSU, his numbers would have been much better.

Eh, it's a lot more than that. Anyone with eyes could see Burrow just needed to clean his game up when we watched him. You could see things like he actually saw the field really well with his time here. Burrow never started before going to LSU. His problem was small things like getting into a rhythm or learning how to read a defense better. Chemistry and timing. That's why by the end of the season Burrow put up some crazy numbers that was bonkers. Something like 800-1000 yards in his last 3 games with tons of TDs.
JD has things about him that he should've learned in high school. There's simply no way LSU is going to develop this guy this year. He can gradually make baby steps of getting better but he's far more raw than Burrow ever was in throwing. What you see here now is how he was at Arizona. I mean it's really not hard to see. Yes, he's talented and a gifted runner but he is what he is. Maybe next year if he stays we can see some big progression from him. Personally, I have doubts a guy in what, how many games in as starter is ever going to develop his passing game to be meaningful if he hasn't done it already. He has regressed as competition has went up which not coincidentally he did the same at his previous stop. That signifies he does not develop he sticks to old habits and defense figures him out.
I'd get an elite QB and not look back if one presents itself in portal. He seems like a really good guy but it is what it is. LSU may be forced to run a 2 QB system if he doesn't start showing progression.

Ok.
Forrest Daniels is going to Forrest Daniels on Saturday because it's what Forrest Daniels does.
Hoping LSU wins despite Forrest Daniels fear of throwing an interception.

but they can still be a very good college QB with time to improve
By week 6 six you kind of are who you are. Daniels may throw some balls he would have held on to previously but there won't be some amzing improvement. This is also a situation where just looking at numbers doesnt tell the whole story.
He may have better numbers going forward since there will be an emphasis to throw those contested balls but he will still not see open players and he will still have accuracy issues. With that said he will still compete and win some games.

Unless you start a thread dogging JD, you will be met with resistance on here. This board hates the guy like he did something personal to them
Nah, just that our passing offense between Denbrock, Daniels, and the WRs/TEs/RBs ain't acceptable or sustainable, and that's with a much improved OL vs. Week 1. Probably all 3 of those people/groups are to blame and all 3 need to improve significantly.
Some are trying to make it a race thing to own the MAGAs and are whining at any sign of criticism for a guy that threw for about 4 YPA against AU.
Everyone should recognize this is a transition year, but it's not unreasonable to find the passing offense frustrating and a concern as LSU is about to enter a meatgrinder the next 4 games.

Huge difference ——Joe’s first five games were literally his first 5 as a starter and his first snaps in over a year. Daniel’s has three years under his belt and over 25 starts.

There is another bigger difference.
Name the starting receivers in 2018 vs the receivers in 2022.
2019 is more comparable to 2022 in regards to WR talent.

Dude pump the brakes a little bit. 2019 had 2 of the top 5 wrs in the NFL

You cant compare Boutte and Nabers to them at this point.

I'll give you that. I don't think ASU helped in his development at all.
