It seems like a lot of "fans" forget that to be a good QB a player doesn't always look amazing right out of the gate. Give the players/coaches time to improve. We didn't hire Brian Kelly because he doesn't know what he is doing. It takes time to develop an offense and every team goes through growing pains. There is no easy fix although some of our "fans" seem to think it's as simple as changing the QB.

Also, we aren't the only team having some offensive struggles. Our offense is actually the #16 most efficient offense in the country so far (Ratings and supporting data are calculated from the results of non-garbage possessions in FBS vs. FBS games.)

eta: No I don't think Daniels or Nuss or anyone on our roster is the next Joe Burrow, but they can still be a very good college QB with time to improve

Joe Burrow didn’t throw a touchdown pass in the month of October in 2018.

You can’t compare the two. No correlation.

this isn't to say they are the same QB, just to point out that you can't judge who a QB is always going to be from 5 games

How many more years of college do u think JD has left. He isn’t a freshman. He’s started in damn near 40 games. He is who he is.

He is a 21 year old Junior just like Burrow was his first 5 games so IDK why this matters.

Unless you start a thread dogging JD, you will be met with resistance on here. This board hates the guy like he did something personal to them

Great work, makes sense....IF BURROW DIDNT START FOR 30 OR SO GAMES! Also, he is nowhere close to Burrow.

He was coached to hold the ball, now they need to break that
habit.

Please make it stop!!!!!

Burrow had never started a game, and got to campus 2 months before the season, and was running an antiquated offense.

Daniels has started 40 games, got here in the spring, and is running a more modern, albeit not as wonderful as I’d like it, offense.

JB threw maybe 30 passes in his college career before transferring. He just needed some experience and playing time. JD just isn't a gunslinger, not saying that's bad but he and JB are not comparable.

I don’t hate him. I want him to succeed and I think he gives lsu the best ability to win. I want to see him develop as a passer.

I wish the coaches would run more up tempo with him and design it so that our best athletes get into space more often and can run.

Burrow's first 5 games at LSU was his first 5 starts. JD first 5 starts was his 40th huge difference

the coach has came out and said that they were focusing on being conservative and protecting the ball so far this season.

Daniels has only attempted throws with a depth of target further than 10 yards on 25% of his drop backs this year compared to 36% of his drop backs last year. It may actually be a coaching decision rather than his unwillingness to air it out.

Don't be ridiculous with your comparisons. Daniels is a nice person, but he isn't winning the Heisman and becoming the first athlete chosen in the draft.
Hope he makes a liar out of me.

Apples and oranges. Those games were Joe’s first games starting in college. JD is a 4th year starter now. Many of us fear that what we’ve seen so far is about all there is. Hopefully AU’s defense is better than we think. If JD has trouble against a bad Tenn defense, we are definitely in trouble. JMO

it could be. I also saw BK jumping his arse a few times during NM game when his 50/50 passes were going out of bounds and not giving our wrs a chance to make a play.

The biggest difference in JB and most college qbs is he attacked the middle of the field...lots of college qbs aren't willing to throw over the middle.
