Look at what Jared Goff is doing in his second year with the Lions (most passing td, 3rd most passing yards, leading the nfl in scoring offense). To say a guy is who he is because he has started 3 years is asinine.

There endless examples of this in college football. To think that a player can’t improve after 5 games in a new system is ignorance.

I am not bitching or moaning. I hope Kelly doesn’t read this stupid board as he should have better things to do. Daniels doesn’t have a couple of years to develop. BTW Kelly should have understood this. If Daniels is the best he could do so be it but the jury is in and he is not good enough to play.

the jury isn't in. this board doesn't decide if he is good enough to play. Kelly has already made it clear he will be the starter this week

That’s fine, but he is what he is. Does not matter whether he starts he cannot get it done.

Burrow wasn't that good until Coach O sat him down and looked him in the eye and taught him the ways of operating an offense at a high level.

You are so wrong here! It isn’t just a simple fact that he is who he is. There are so many variables to this game that it can affect who a player looks to be. It does matter that he played 4 years of football, which is why you still see him throwing higher completion percentage, 3 times as many TDs to INT’s and why we won 4 games and lost 1 by a point. That’s why you see him coming back from 17-0 to win.

OK, sweetpea. Explain how JD5 will suddenly become a credible pocket presence and complete 60% of his passes with a YPA of at least 8 yards. It could happen. Would that it does happen, but given all the tape we have on him, I would not bet on it.

Right. Look, I hope he turns it around but I see no evidence that that will happen. He is not improving.

Cheers, mate.

That's exactly what he did for an entire season as a true freshman. There is far more evidence that he is capable of such than the inverse.

Right. Now LSU will see some different teams. Everyone thought LSU would beat Auburn convincingly but it did not happen. JD5 had all of 80 yards of passing. Is that the game you have in mind? Will LSU face some better defenses than Auburn?

It appears he has forgotten how to do it.

The biggest difference is that Burrow was taking classes his first year and the second year he may have had one class. He was able to throw himself into the playbook and build a rapport with Jefferson (Bigger Rapport), Chase, and CEH.

To be honest up until 2019 CEH was average.

Burrow benefited from a really good OL as well.

You can’t take just one class

JB threw maybe 30 passes in his college career before transferring. He just needed some experience and playing time. JD just isn't a gunslinger, not saying that's bad but he and JB are not comparable.

This is what most missed when we got Daniels. A 3 year starter at Arizona. He is was he is, for better or worse, not going to change. Burrow was an unknown commodity due to not getting a chance to start at Ohio State. He turned out to be a diamond in the rough. No such luck with Daniels.
